The Ultimate Guide to Boosting Your Lexus Sales: Why Your Hot Models Aren’t Selling as Well as They Should

The first half of 2024 has been a stellar period for Lexus, with a record-breaking sales increase of 15.7% compared to the same period last year. This success is largely attributed to the rising popularity of their electric vehicle models, which have captured the hearts of environmentally conscious consumers. With its commitment to innovation and sustainability, Lexus is leading the automotive industry into a greener future, one electric mile at a time.

Luxury car brand Lexus, owned by Toyota Motor Corporation, has seen a significant boost in sales for the first half of 2024. With a 11.9% increase compared to the same period last year, Lexus sold 167,412 vehicles, up from 149,412, marking the brand’s most successful first half-year in 35 years. Notably, SUV sales grew by 15.7%.

However, their best-selling model, the RX, experienced a 4.2% decline, selling 54,955 units. In contrast, Lexus’s electric vehicle sales soared, witnessing a remarkable 46.5% growth, accounting for 35.9% of the brand’s total sales as of June 2024.

Several Lexus models and lines also reached new milestones in the first half of the year. The NX achieved record sales across all its internal combustion, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid variants. The hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions of the RX, along with the RZ, also set new records.

Toyota’s press release highlighted the impressive performance of the TX SUV, which was not unexpected given that the model was not even available for sale until the fall of 2023.

Going against the grain of Lexus’s overall performance, the compact SUV UX had a subdued first half. Sales of the brand’s smallest and most affordable model fell by 21% to 6,802 units, and its June sales were also down 29.1% year-over-year, totaling just 718 vehicles.

The sales performance of Lexus’s sedans was similarly lackluster. While the mid-size ES saw a slight increase of 1.2% in the first half, selling 19,558 units, the LS remained almost unchanged (up 0.2% to 1,214 units). IS sales declined by 8.7% to 10,149 units. On a positive note, coupe sales fared better, with the RC selling 941 units, an increase of 11.8%. The more expensive LC model witnessed a 17.1% growth, selling 966 units in the first half of the year.

In Vietnam, the Lexus RX, GX, and LX models are particularly popular. In the first five months of 2024, a total of 550 Lexus vehicles of various models were delivered to customers.
