On July 4th, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Loan, owner of Tuong Vy Facility in An Giang, which sells palm sugar, shared that they received over 1,000 orders during the “Hau Giang Flavor” livestream on June 30th, thanks to the participation of well-known content creators.

“We managed to pack and deliver all the orders on time. Due to the various discounts offered during the livestream, the products were sold at attractive prices, resulting in a low cancellation rate of only a few dozen orders,” shared Ms. Loan.

She excitedly added, “Even after the livestream ended, some consumers continued to place orders.”

Palm sugar from Tuong Vy Facility, Chan Phuong palm flower honey, and APG Eco field shrimp rice were the three best-selling products during the largest OCOP livestream event on TikTok, held in An Giang with the participation of numerous KOLs and KOCs, including Hang Du Muc, Thien Nhan, Ta Cong Bang, Huyen Phi, and Phuong Oanh Daily, on June 30th.

According to the organizers, after four hours of livestreaming featuring dozens of specialties from An Giang and the Mekong Delta region from over 20 brands, they received 21,000 orders with a revenue of 3 billion VND. Notably, APG Eco sold nearly 23 tons of rice during the event.

This figure was also shared by content creator Hang Du Muc after the conclusion of the livestream.

In an interview, Ms. Dang Thuy Linh, Chairman of APG Eco Joint Stock Company, added that on the day of the event, the company sold nearly 50 tons of rice as they focused not only on selling with KOLs and KOCs but also continued to promote sales on their own TikTok channel.

Ms. Linh shared that after the livestream, the company had to prepare 15 truckloads of goods from their warehouses and factories in An Giang and Ho Chi Minh City to transport them to delivery units before reaching consumers.

“Thanks to our experience in selling on TikTok Shop, we were well-prepared to deliver the orders on time, even with the surge in demand,” said Ms. Linh.

Meanwhile, Ms. Ly Hua Thi Lan Phuong, owner of the Chan Phuong brand, expressed regret that they could only fulfill over 600 orders, despite much higher demand during the livestream.

“Based on our current production capacity and packaging capabilities, we registered the maximum sales volume to serve our customers best. Through this livestream, we learned a lot from the selling techniques of the content creators,” said Ms. Phuong.

Long-term Support Needed

Representatives of some of the brands that participated in the “Hau Giang Flavor” livestream shared that first-time sellers on livestreams often feel confused about the process. There is now a group of An Giang OCOP sellers on TikTok, with regular support from TikTok staff, to help them become familiar with doing business on this new platform.
