Car Manufacturers Offer Registration Fee Support and More to Boost Sales in Vietnam
Mitsubishi is offering a 50% to 100% discount on registration fees for select models, along with a complimentary 360-degree camera worth 20 million VND.
Toyota dealerships are providing a 50% registration fee discount for the Veloz, Vios, and Avanza models. Additionally, purchasers of the Yaris Cross will receive a one-year gold insurance package and two years of free maintenance.
Hyundai and Kia are also offering direct support by reducing registration fees by 50%.
Honda Vietnam is joining the competition by providing registration fee discounts of 50% to 100% for various models, including the City, CR-V, and BR-V. The Accord model receives a substantial 220 million VND cash discount.
Luxury car brands are not missing out on the action. Mercedes-Benz Vietnam is offering cash discounts equivalent to 50% of the registration fee for the GLC 200, E-Class, and AMG C 43 4MATIC models, ranging from 137 to 192 million VND. For the V250 AMG MPV 7-seater, they are offering a cash reduction of 451 million VND, equivalent to 100% of the registration fee, bringing the vehicle’s price down to approximately 3.3 billion VND.
Volkswagen dealerships are providing registration fee support of up to 400 million VND, applied directly to the vehicle’s price.

Auto dealers in Ho Chi Minh City have reported a noticeable drop in sales for June and the beginning of July. Customers are mostly browsing and postponing their purchases until August, anticipating potential reductions in registration fees.
As a result, car manufacturers and distributors are taking proactive measures to boost sales by offering various incentives.

The Provincial Security Investigation Agency (PSIA) of Thanh Hoa province announced on January 31st that it has made the decision to initiate a prosecution against 23 individuals in connection with the offenses of “Accepting bribes” and “Giving bribes” as stipulated in Article 354(3) and Article 364(2) of the Criminal Code.

The Thanh Hoa Police Investigative Agency has initiated legal proceedings against 23 individuals involved in the crimes of “Bribery” and “Receiving bribes”. This is the largest bribery case in terms of the number of suspects ever discovered and apprehended by the Thanh Hoa Police.
