A massive jackfruit weighing in at a staggering 56kg has captivated people in Lang Son Province, breaking the previous record held by a 54.5kg jackfruit in Hai Duong Province.

This colossal fruit, originating from Chi Lang Town in Chi Lang District, was showcased at the Chi Lang Na Fruit and OCOP Products Promotion and Consumption Program 2023 held in Lang Son.

Many onlookers wondered about the fate of this record-breaking jackfruit after the exhibition and were curious about its taste.

Mr. Sau was one of the lucky few who got to taste the giant jackfruit.

Mr. Hoang Van Sau, a resident of Chi Lang Town, Lang Son Province, shared that he was one of the fortunate individuals who got to cut and savor this monumental jackfruit.

According to Mr. Sau, after its display at the fair, he and a select few were honored to be gifted the 56kg jackfruit.

The jackfruit was cut into small pieces and shared among the group.

Mr. Sau’s group cut into the jackfruit and relished its unique flavor. He described it as a chewy variety with a delightful aroma, sweet taste, and large segments, although not as yellow as the domestic jackfruit.

Mr. Sau and his companions divided the jackfruit into small pieces, ensuring everyone had a chance to taste the delectable fruit. The entire process was documented and shared on social media, both to commemorate the enjoyable experience and to promote the Chi Lang Na fruit fair and local specialties.

Previously, Mr. Pham Van Thieu’s family in Hai Duong had the opportunity to indulge in the 54.5kg jackfruit. Those who partook in cutting and tasting the fruit remarked on its sweet, fragrant, and golden segments, almost as large as an adult’s hand.
