The pharmaceutical group remains the biggest highlight, with pharmaceutical stocks surging. DCL, IMP, DVM, DVN, and DHG are all in the purple. The remaining codes, if not ceiling, also have impressive gains.
The banking and insurance groups are following the upward trend of pharmaceutical stocks. In the banking group, 18/21 codes are in the green. Of these, BID rose 2.2%, becoming one of the main pillars contributing to the VN-Index’s upward trend thanks to a large number.
The insurance group is showing positivity with no codes down, 6 codes up, and 3 codes unchanged.
Information on allowing banks to sell linked investment insurance products is likely supporting the two financial and banking groups.
Opening: Pharmaceutical stocks surge
Securities entered the session on 07/16 positively with green in the main indices. VN-Index increased by 4.5 points, and HNX-Index increased by 1 point. Buying power is dominating the early session, with 320 codes up and 100 codes down (as of 9:25 am).
Healthcare stocks (mainly pharmaceuticals) maintained their green status from the previous day and led the early session. DHG rose nearly 6%, IMP hit the ceiling, and DHT rose 8%. Other pharmaceutical codes such as DBD, DBT, DCL, DHG, and DMC also performed well, rising 2-3%.
The electrical equipment group also witnessed positive developments. GEX rose over 2%, and PAC increased by 2.3%.
Bank stocks sold off heavily
Today (2/2), the VN-Index continues to rise, but in a cautious trading atmosphere. It is noteworthy that most banking stocks in the VN30 basket are facing strong selling pressure.
