The Visionary Founder’s Journey: 55 Years of Elevating Sustainable Agriculture

With 45 years of resilient business experience and a deep dedication to the sugarcane industry, Mrs. Huynh Bich Ngoc is regarded as a leading female entrepreneur in Vietnam’s Sugarcane industry. In the early days of her career, she traveled with her husband, entrepreneur Dang Van Thanh, through the Mekong Delta region to purchase molasses for distilling alcohol, becoming one of the two brilliant founders of the TTC Group’s sugarcane empire. By closely connecting with farmers and directly overseeing agricultural extension projects and competitions, she laid the first bricks that shaped the important steps for the country’s sugarcane industry.

As a key leader, Mrs. Ngoc has boldly steered the company through challenges and towards success at crucial junctures. A notable example is the introduction of clean products to the world before the challenging milestone of the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA), which officially came into effect for Vietnam’s sugar industry on January 1, 2020.

Today, TTC Agris holds a leading position in the domestic market with nearly 46% of the sugar industry’s market share and a presence in over 50 international export markets. The company also boasts self-sufficiency in organic production with a cross-border raw material area of over 71,000 hectares across four countries: Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Australia. Under Mrs. Ngoc’s leadership, TTC Agris has diversified its product portfolio, including carbonated sugarcane water, mineral water, and Mom Cooks coconut water, contributing to the strategic goal of increasing the value chain of sugarcane and other crops such as coconuts and fruit trees. This marks an important step for TTC Agris’ entry into the plant-based consumer goods market alongside its primary sugarcane products.

Based on Mrs. Huynh Bich Ngoc’s timely business strategy as Chairman, TTC Agris has consecutively received high evaluations from reputable organizations for its governance and strong market positioning.

The title “Queen of Sugarcane” not only reflects Mrs. Huynh Bich Ngoc’s influence but also her inspiration to generations of female entrepreneurs, including her daughter, Dang Huynh Uc My, Vice Chairman of TTC Agris. With a modern vision, a profound international education, and a solid foundation of knowledge, entrepreneur Dang Huynh Uc My, also known as the Female General of Vietnamese agriculture, has demonstrated excellent leadership by standing side by side with her mother in managing the business from an early age and creating significant leverage in promoting smart and circular agricultural value chains.

Embodying the spirit of transmission and creation of new values, Mrs. Huynh Bich Ngoc emphasizes the responsibility of “passing the torch” to ensure TTC Agris’ sustainable development and continued growth. “The decision to transfer power to capable young leaders is not only a strategic move but also a necessity to ensure TTC Agris’ sustainable development in the future,” shared Mrs. Ngoc.

New Potential, New Face of TTC Agris in the Decades to Come

Inheriting the founding generation’s vision of a “green” business strategy, Mrs. Dang Huynh Uc My has established TTC Agris’ mission to create a modern, sustainable agricultural industry that provides natural energy and nutrition. Building on Chairman Huynh Bich Ngoc’s passion for solidifying the country’s agricultural position on the international stage, Mrs. Uc My has successfully guided the company’s confident steps in the global trade value chain.

Specifically, Mrs. Uc My has transformed TTC Agris into Vietnam’s first Sugarcane 4.0 enterprise, leading the digital transformation with the “Oracle Cloud ERP” core digital system, which also serves as a lever to expand the company’s scale into international markets. With a robust technological foundation, she has steered the company to build the TTC Agris circular economic linkage across multiple countries, maximizing benefits for all stakeholders. Notable achievements include international collaborations on the development of Agriculture 4.0 with leading organizations, expanding TTC Agris’ raw material areas in the world’s sugarcane capitals, promoting sustainable agriculture and building a high-quality global workforce, and accompanying the Vietnamese government in enhancing multi-country cooperation during the country’s green economic transition.

Beyond digital transformation, with the support of Mrs. Huynh Bich Ngoc, Mrs. Uc My, and the Board of Directors, TTC Agris has embarked on a journey of green transformation and agricultural economic transformation. The company has successfully developed a smart agricultural economic model integrating production, import-export, and agricultural trade services, with a focus on outstanding R&D activities. TTC Agris’ position as a “Provider of High-Tech Agricultural Solutions Based on Sustainable Development” is gradually being affirmed through a business philosophy that combines the two generations’ leadership in Solutions, Sustainability, and Technology.

These timely strides have propelled TTC Agris to open up agricultural economic thinking, participate in the global food and beverage nutrition supply chain, and actively standardize governance practices to meet international standards. As a result, the TTC Agris brand has quickly become the destination of choice for leading financial institutions such as IFC, SMBC, FCB Bank, and other major financial groups.

Looking ahead to its 2025 development strategy and 2030 vision, TTC Agris aims to conquer the global F&B market based on the Circular Commercial Value Chain. The succeeding leader, Dang Huynh Uc My, is expected to be a crucial element in maintaining core values and guiding TTC Agris to achieve its revenue target of VND 60,000 billion by 2030, as well as continuing the mission of sustainable development in her new role. This transition is especially significant as TTC Agris enters the next crucial phase after 55 years of participating in the global sustainable agriculture journey.

Ms. Dang Huynh Uc My, the succeeding leader, is steering TTC Agris to establish its capabilities as a pioneering enterprise, fostering the sustainable development of the country’s agriculture on the international stage, together with all stakeholders.

Through the positive contributions of the succeeding leader, Dang Huynh Uc My, to the overall growth of TTC Agris, it is evident that the foundations laid by the founding generation have been successfully passed on and optimized. This is evident in the company’s powerful transformation to conquer international agricultural science and trade arenas.
