On August 9, the 20th meeting (special session) of the 14th Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Council took place at the Quang Ninh Conference Center to consider the dismissal of Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky from his position as Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council and to terminate his role as a representative of the 14th Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Council for the 2021-2026 term, in accordance with his personal request.

After reviewing the proposal presented by the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Council, the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Council engaged in discussions, voted, and unanimously passed a resolution to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky from his position as Chairman and to terminate his role as a representative of the 14th Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Council for the 2021-2026 term.

Prior to this, on August 3, at a meeting of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Committee agreed to relieve Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky, a member of the 13th Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Party Committee, and Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Council, from his position in the 13th Central Committee.
