In an effort to ensure food safety during the Mid-Autumn Festival, authorities in Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, conducted inspections at various business establishments.
On August 7, an inspection team visited a grocery store located at 4 Dang Dung, Truc Bach, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, and discovered 400 pieces of 50-gram baked mooncakes produced by a foreign manufacturer. The products lacked proper invoices and documentation to verify their origin and quality.
Previously, on August 6, the team inspected another grocery store at 115 Tan Ap, Phuc Xa, Ba Dinh, and found 321 assorted candies and mooncakes, including 175 baked mooncakes. Similarly, these products were of foreign origin and lacked the necessary paperwork to prove their source and quality.

The goods showing signs of violation from both cases have been temporarily confiscated by the inspection team for further handling in accordance with regulations.
According to Plan No. 232 on ensuring food safety for the Mid-Autumn Festival in Hanoi in 2024, the Hanoi People’s Committee has assigned units to conduct inspections until September 20.
The inspections aim to assess the compliance of establishments producing, trading, and importing food products for the Mid-Autumn Festival with relevant legal regulations.
Through these inspections and controls, authorities can promptly detect, prevent, and handle violations related to food safety, thereby reducing food poisoning cases and foodborne illnesses. This contributes to the overall goal of protecting and promoting public health.
The inspection campaign will continue until September 20, 2024, and will cover all 30 districts, counties, and towns in the city.
Hanoi to reclaim over 2,600 hectares of agricultural land in two districts
The plan for land use in 2024 for Hoang Mai district and Dong Anh district has just been approved by the city of Hanoi. As a result, a total area of over 2,600ha of agricultural land is expected to be reclaimed by these two units within the year.

Le Quang Dao Street, stretching over 2.6 kilometers, is located between Thang Long Boulevard and Ring Road 3.5. Currently under construction, it is set to be completed and opened for traffic on April 1st.
