The marshland in Thu Thiem Peninsula, spanning over 128 hectares, has been approved for transformation into Ho Chi Minh City’s third-largest park. This ambitious project aims to create a green oasis in the heart of the bustling metropolis.

With a total investment of VND 6,400 billion, the park development is scheduled to take place between 2024 and 2030, as outlined in Decision 117/QD-BHDT by the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Investment and Construction Project Management Authority.

VTC News reporters captured the construction site of the future park, located on the expansive marshland of the Thu Thiem Peninsula and along the banks of the Saigon River.

The park is strategically located adjacent to the Sala Urban Area, developed by Dai Quang Minh, covering a total area of approximately 128 hectares.

Bui Thien Ngo Street, one of the four main roads in the new Thu Thiem Urban Area, stretches for about 2.5 kilometers through the park.

Across the Saigon River is District 7, where future plans include the construction of the Thu Thiem 4 Bridge, further connecting the city.

As per the master plan, the new Thu Thiem Urban Area will be divided into eight functional areas, with the park falling under Area 8. This area is dedicated to environmental protection, drainage, and the preservation of the natural wetland ecosystem within the city.
