On August 12, the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province held a working session with the Thang Long Project Management Board (representing the State Authority at Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway) regarding the implementation of the Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway project.
According to the Thang Long Project Management Board, from September to November 2024, units will conduct surveys, establish files, and stake out land for clearance. In December 2024, the land stakes will be handed over to the local authorities where the project passes through. To implement the Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway project, relevant sectors need to revoke nearly 380 hectares of land in four districts of Dong Nai province, including Thong Nhat, Dinh Quan, Xuan Loc, and Tan Phu. The compensation, support, and resettlement costs for the project amount to over VND 1,450 billion.

The Thang Long Project Management Board proposed that Dong Nai province direct relevant units to coordinate and support the Project Management Board in implementing the project, especially in site clearance; and establish compensation, clearance, and resettlement councils to handle dossiers and procedures during the land revocation process for the project.

Starting point of the Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway at the intersection of National Highway 1A and Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province, affirmed that the site clearance work for the Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway would be assigned to the local authorities. Therefore, the districts through which the project passes need to promptly complete the compilation of site clearance data, and in October 2024, Dong Nai province will approve the sub-project on compensation and site clearance for the Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway project, dividing tasks for local implementation.
The leadership of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province requested the localities to review related planning and strengthen construction management to avoid overlaps in planning and illegal construction within the project area. During the land revocation process, the units should coordinate closely with the Thang Long Project Management Board to promptly address difficulties and obstacles, ensuring the early handover of land for expressway construction.
The Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway Project (phase 1) is over 60 km long, with four lanes and a designed speed of 100 km/h. The total investment capital is nearly VND 9,000 billion, implemented under the PPP mode. The project starts at the intersection of National Highway 1A and Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway (in Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province) and ends at National Highway 20, connecting to the Tan Phu – Bao Loc Expressway (in Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province).
The project is expected to commence construction by the end of 2024. By 2026, the project will be basically completed and put into operation in 2027.
