Mazda6 Discounted at Dealerships

The D-segment of cars is often considered a tough sell due to high prices and large sizes that make maneuvering through narrow city streets a challenge. This explains why a handful of D-segment cars produced in 2023 are still available at dealerships, including the Mazda6, despite its position as the most affordable option in its class. However, policies vary from dealer to dealer.

Sales consultants at multiple dealerships are offering significant discounts on the last few 2023 VIN Mazda6 models. For instance, a dealership in Hanoi is selling the Mazda6 2.0 Premium model at a reduced price of 744 million VND. This represents a substantial discount of 65 million VND from the listed price of 809 million VND. The new price is only slightly higher than the top-of-the-line Mazda3, by just 5 million VND.

The Premium model is the third most expensive of the five Mazda6 variants currently available in Vietnam. With a listed price of 809 million VND, the Mazda6 2.0 Premium is positioned above the 2.0 Premium GTCCC (790 million VND) and the 2.0 Luxury (769 million VND) variants.

Vehicle prices may vary slightly between dealerships. For example, a dealership in the northern region is offering the 2.0 Premium GTCCC model at a discounted price of 760 million VND, which is only 21 million VND more than the Mazda3 1.5 Signature (sedan). Similarly, a dealership in Ho Chi Minh City has reduced the price of the same model by 20 million VND, bringing the starting price down to 749 million VND.

What Does the Mazda6 Offer?

Mazda6 has changed the perception of D-segment cars by offering models priced below 1 billion VND, with even the top-of-the-line variant costing less than 900 million VND. This pricing strategy allows the Mazda6 to compete directly with C-segment cars (in terms of price) such as the Honda Civic (730-870 million VND) and the Toyota Corolla Altis (725-870 million VND).

The competitive pricing is considered one of the key factors that enable the Mazda6 to rival the Toyota Camry. Nevertheless, it is still the second-best-selling model in its segment, with a significant gap between it and the market leader, the Toyota Camry.

One reason for the lower sales figures could be the preference of Vietnamese consumers for SUVs. Additionally, the Mazda6 has not received any significant design or feature upgrades in recent years. However, the distributor has recently introduced new variants to the lineup, hoping that a wider range of options will make the model more appealing to a diverse set of consumers.

The Mazda6 has undergone minimal exterior upgrades over the years. The front grille features a large honeycomb design, complemented by LED headlights that sweep back elegantly. The car is equipped with either 17-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels, depending on the variant. The door handles are color-matched to the body, and the side mirrors are electrically adjustable and foldable, with integrated LED turn signals. At the rear, chrome accents on the bumper and dual exhaust pipes, along with LED taillights connected by a chrome strip, create a sophisticated look.

Despite its competitive pricing, the Mazda6 boasts a host of high-end features. The interior is appointed with a 3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted controls, leather upholstery, electrically adjustable driver and front passenger seats, and a memory function for the driver’s seat. An 8-inch infotainment system, DVD player, 6 to 11 speakers, AUX, USB, and Bluetooth connectivity, paddle shifters, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function are all standard. Other conveniences include push-button start and a power sunroof.

Under the hood, the Mazda6 offers a choice of two engines: a 2.0-liter producing 154 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque, or a 2.5-liter generating 188 horsepower and 252 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and feature direct injection. Safety features include ABS, EBD, an anti-theft alarm, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, rear parking sensors, key immobilizer, and the i-Activsense safety suite.
