Vietlott Mega 6/45 jackpot worth over VND47 billion ($2 million) was awarded to Mr. T.D., a Viettel subscriber, on August 14, 2024.
Mr. D. was the lucky owner of the winning ticket with the numbers: 11 – 19 – 22 – 29 – 40 – 44.
According to Mr. D., he is the owner of a business in Ho Chi Minh City. He has only been purchasing Vietlott tickets since the beginning of 2024, although he has been aware of lottery games for a few years. He immediately shared the good news with his wife and family when he received the call informing him of his win.
Mr. D. plans to use the prize money to expand his business and take care of his family.
During the award ceremony, Mr. D. donated VND500 million to the Tam Tai Viet Fund for social welfare activities.
As per regulations, Mr. D. is required to pay personal income tax in Ho Chi Minh City, where he registered to participate in the lottery. The tax amounts to over VND4.7 billion (10% of the value exceeding VND10 million) and was deducted from his winnings upon receipt.
Previously, on August 6, a Viettel subscriber also won the Power 6/55 Jackpot 1, worth over VND228 billion. The winning numbers were: 22 – 34 – 44 – 46 – 54 – 55. After deducting personal income tax as per regulations, the winner will receive nearly VND206 billion.
On May 9, the Power 6/55 jackpot worth over VND62 billion was also won. The lucky numbers were: 03 – 16 – 21 – 36 – 37 – 40. The owner of the lucky ticket was Ms. T. from Kien Giang. In addition to the jackpot, Ms. T. also won Jackpot 2 and 48 first prizes, bringing the total value of her winnings to over VND70 billion.
