Mitsubishi Xforce Dominates the B-Segment SUV Market

The B-segment SUV market in Vietnam is gaining popularity, and sales figures for these vehicles are constantly fluctuating. This segment is one of the most dynamic in the industry, with most models recording growth in sales for July. Leading the pack is the Mitsubishi Xforce.

Mitsubishi Xforce sold an impressive 1,748 units in July 2024, claiming the top spot in the B-SUV segment with nearly 30% market share. Its closest competitor, the Toyota Yaris Cross, sold 1,242 units, securing second place with a 21% share.

This performance has allowed the Xforce to surpass the Yaris Cross after two months of trailing behind. Previously, in March 2024, the Xforce also led the segment with 1,334 units sold, marking the first time Mitsubishi’s B-segment SUV reached consumers.

From the beginning of the year until now, the Mitsubishi Xforce has sold a total of 5,638 units, leading the B-size SUV segment despite only being delivered to customers since March.

In just over four months since its launch, the Mitsubishi Xforce has become the second best-selling vehicle in Vietnam for July 2024, second only to the VinFast Vf 5, which sold nearly 2,600 units.

Mitsubishi Xforce’s Competitive Pricing

Mitsubishi has priced its B-segment SUV competitively, matching the pricing of its Korean rivals, the Creta and Seltos, with a starting price of just 599 million VND. This makes the Xforce the most affordable model in this highly competitive segment.

The Dynamic Shied design language, already familiar from the Xpander, has also helped the Xforce quickly gain favor with Vietnamese customers.

Since the second half of June, Mitsubishi has introduced the top-of-the-line Ultimate trim level for the Xforce, further boosting its sales performance. The Xforce has also recently achieved a 5-star safety rating from ASEAN NCAP.

Mitsubishi has also implemented significant promotional programs for the Xforce. The company has offered attractive discounts on registration fees for the Exceed and GLX models, reducing the effective selling price of the Xforce at dealerships to as low as 569 million VND.

This pricing is equivalent to the mid-range Kia Sonet, which is in a lower segment, and significantly lower than the Seltos, which starts at 599 million VND.
