The Chinese side also included the following comrades in attendance: Thai Ky, Politburo Standing Committee member, Secretariat Secretary, and Head of the Central Committee’s Office of the Communist Party of China; Wang Yi, Politburo member, Director of the Foreign Affairs Working Committee Office, and Foreign Minister of China; Wang Xiao Hong, State Councilor and Minister of Public Security of China; Liu Jianchao, Head of the Central Committee’s Foreign Liaison Department; Zheng Saiqie, Chairman of the National Reform and Development Commission; Jin Zhuanglong, Minister of Industry and Information Technology; and Wang Wentao, Minister of Commerce, along with numerous other leaders from central ministries, agencies, and the China National Committee, as well as Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam, Xiong Ba.
The motorcade carrying General Secretary, President To Lam and his wife, along with the Vietnamese high-level delegation, arrived at the Great Hall of the People. General Secretary, President Xi Jinping and his wife warmly welcomed General Secretary, President To Lam and his wife. Both sides introduced the officials present at the welcoming ceremony.
General Secretary and President Xi Jinping invited General Secretary and President To Lam to ascend the Reviewing Stand. The military band played the national anthems of Vietnam and China and a 21-gun salute was fired in honor of the visiting dignitaries.
General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and General Secretary and President To Lam inspected the guard of honor of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. The honor guard marched past the reviewing stand. Subsequently, the two leaders walked past the military band, waving to the children who were waving flags and flowers.
Following this, the two General Secretaries and Presidents, along with their wives, took a group photo in front of the national and party flags of the two countries.
Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, leading the high-level Chinese delegation, and General Secretary and President To Lam, leading the high-level Vietnamese delegation, proceeded to hold talks.
