Suzuki XL7 Hybrid Spotted on the Roads

The Suzuki XL7 has been spotted on specialized transport vehicles in Ho Chi Minh City streets. These vehicles are likely carrying the first batch of cars to dealerships ahead of the official launch, which Suzuki Vietnam previously hinted at as August 20th.

According to the source, these XL7 hybrids feature a new two-tone cream and black paint job, a possible new option for the upcoming model. The wheels appear to be dark-painted, a departure from the previous machined finish. The rear logo has been repositioned, now accompanied by a “Hybrid” logo on the right.

Last weekend, Suzuki Vietnam teased a clip of the XL7 hybrid, and the car in the video sported the same new paint scheme as the ones spotted on the transport vehicle.

Dealers Reveal 16 New Features on the XL7 Hybrid

As the launch date approaches, dealerships are sharing more information about the upcoming XL7 hybrid. According to a sales consultant, the XL7 hybrid will boast 16 new features, including, of course, the new hybrid engine.

In terms of exterior updates, aside from the new color option, the XL7 will feature a redesigned grille, a larger Suzuki logo, dark-painted wheels, new front and rear door trim, a new antenna, and the addition of a “Hybrid” logo for easy identification.

The interior will see even more significant improvements, including a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, new decorative trim, and a new multi-information display behind the steering wheel. Convenience features will include cruise control, automatic folding mirrors, and automatic headlights with a guide mode.

The Vietnamese XL7 hybrid is expected to offer a larger touchscreen and wireless connectivity over the Indonesian model.

The hybrid powertrain, similar to the Ertiga, combines a 1.5L gasoline engine with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery for improved acceleration. Unlike Toyota’s hybrid system, this setup does not allow the car to run purely on electric power.

Dealerships have started taking reservations for the XL7 hybrid with a deposit of VND 10 million, and the expected price remains close to the current model.

The XL7 hybrid will compete in the MPV crossover segment against rivals like the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross, Hyundai Stargazer X, and Toyota Veloz Cross. Among these, the Hyundai Stargazer X is the most affordable option, with its highest trim level priced at VND 599 million, similar to the current price of the standard XL7.
