FPT Corporation has announced the official groundbreaking of its AI Center and Auxiliary City project in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province. The project is located in Tran Quang Dieu and Bui Thi Xuan wards, and spans an area of 93.24 hectares with a total investment of VND 4,362 billion. The investor of this project is the FPT Quy Nhon Consortium, which consists of three units: FPT Danang Urban Joint Stock Company (FPT City), FPT Investment Joint Stock Company (FPT Investment), and FPT Software Joint Stock Company (FPT Software).
The project aims to boost innovation, investment, and research and development in AI technology, as well as establish an auxiliary city with a focus on AI. This is expected to attract and retain tech talent, contributing to Binh Dinh’s goal of becoming a regional AI hub.
The project comprises three main functional areas: the AI Center, the Education and Training Area, and the Auxiliary City.
The AI Center will be a hub for research, training, software production, digital transformation support, and the provision of cybersecurity, social security, and AI solutions to enhance human productivity, quality, and service value.
The Education and Training Area will host a school complex, offering education from primary to high school levels.
The Auxiliary City will provide essential amenities and services tailored to the unique needs of an AI-focused urban area, attracting high-quality human resources to Binh Dinh, especially in the fields of high technology, new technology, and AI.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT’s Board of Directors, shared his confidence in Binh Dinh’s potential: “For many years, Binh Dinh has prioritized investment in science, technology, and innovation as one of its key strategies. I believe that Binh Dinh will soon become a regional and even global hub for AI and semiconductors.”
He added, “Our AI Research and Application Center in Binh Dinh is currently executing projects worth hundreds of thousands to millions of US dollars for clients in the US, Japan, and Europe.”
To support Binh Dinh in becoming a regional AI and semiconductor hub, FPT will collaborate with the province in training and developing AI talent while also attracting leading AI experts from Vietnam and worldwide.
FPT has a strong track record of supporting technological development in Binh Dinh. In 2021, the corporation signed an agreement to develop the province’s master plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision toward 2050, and a cooperation agreement to promote digital transformation in the province during the 2021-2025 period.
FPT has also worked alongside Binh Dinh to establish a Smart City Monitoring and Operation Center (IOC) based on a unified technology platform. They have implemented an integrated data-sharing platform, deployed an AI-powered traffic camera system to analyze vehicle violations, conducted large-scale digital transformation awareness training, and provided consulting services for digital healthcare, agriculture, and enterprise solutions. Thanks to these efforts, Binh Dinh has climbed to 29th place out of 63 provinces in terms of digital transformation, a rise of five places since 2021.
FPT has made significant contributions to establishing Binh Dinh as a center for AI research and education. Currently, FPT is educating approximately 2,000 students in the province. The FPT University branch in Binh Dinh, which opened in 2021, specializes in AI education.
The FPT AI Research and Application Center in Quy Nhon has consistently secured AI projects worth millions of US dollars with American and Japanese clients, creating numerous job opportunities for local talent and attracting skilled professionals from neighboring provinces.
