Viettel Corporation JSC Postal (Viettel Post, stock code: VTP) recently announced the resignation of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam from the positions of Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors due to personal reasons.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam has been the Chairman of Viettel Post since April 2021. Prior to that, in 2018, Mr. Nam served as Vice President of the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel).

Viettel Post is a subsidiary of Viettel Group, providing domestic and international express delivery services, logistics services, etc.

The Q2/2024 financial report showed that Viettel Post recorded a revenue of VND 4,945 billion, a slight increase of 5.7% compared to the same period last year. However, after deducting expenses, profit after tax decreased by 5%, reaching only VND 93 billion.

In the first six months of the year, Viettel Post brought in nearly VND 9,620 billion in revenue, a slight decrease compared to the same period, leading to a 12% decrease in profit after tax to VND 152 billion. Compared to the target, the company has achieved 73% of revenue but only 41% of profit for the full year.

In the market, VTP stock was officially listed and traded on the HOSE on March 12, 2024.

The stock then attracted attention as it continued to rise sharply and once reached a price of nearly VND 99,000/share in the trading session in June 2024, the highest in history.

However, in the following sessions, VTP stock fell sharply and closed at VND 77,100/share on August 21, but compared to its initial trading price, the stock is still up nearly 18%.
