On August 22, speaking at the closing of the interrogation and answering session at the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man stated that after 1.5 days of serious, vibrant, and responsible work, as of now, the entire content of the interrogation and answering session has been completed.
‘Frank answers that clarified many issues’
The National Assembly Chairman appreciated that the delegates had demonstrated a high sense of responsibility by asking concise, clear, and focused questions that went straight to the point.
The National Assembly leader acknowledged that the Government members and ministers had a good grasp of the actual situation in their respective sectors and fields. They provided basic and frank answers, clarified many issues, and proposed solutions for more effective implementation in the future.

On behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Mr. Tran Thanh Man requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade to continue implementing approved schemes, strategies, plans, and roadmaps effectively to ensure energy security and safety.
The ministry was also asked to complete the legal system in the field of gasoline and oil trading and soon propose a long-term solution for the separate preservation of gasoline and oil national reserves.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was urged to finalize policies and laws on trademarks and brands of key agricultural products. It should also enhance forecasting and proactively deploy solutions to respond to climate change, prevent natural disasters, and combat drought and saltwater intrusion.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism was asked to promptly issue guidance documents for policies that have not been implemented under Resolution No. 08 of the Politburo on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector.
The Ministry of Home Affairs was requested to complete the arrangement and resolve regimes and policies for redundant officials and the management of assets after the rearrangement of district- and commune-level administrative units in the 2019-2021 period.
The National Assembly Chairman asked the Ministry of Justice to proactively review and propose legislative tasks to serve as a basis for suggesting legislative orientation for the 16th National Assembly term. The ministry should also completely overcome the situation of slow issuance of guiding documents and prevent corruption and negativity in law-making activities.

The Ministry of Public Security was urged to finalize policies and laws related to ensuring security, social order, and safety and preventing and combating crimes and legal violations. It should also enhance the fight against all types of crimes, especially organized crimes, those related to ‘black credit,’ cross-border crimes, and those involving foreigners or operating under the cover of enterprises.
Urgent requirement in institutional perfection
The National Assembly Standing Committee requested the Government Inspectorate to review and resolutely handle lingering complicated and prolonged complaints and denunciations and prevent new complex and prolonged cases. It should also enhance the quality and effectiveness of inspection conclusions and the responsibility for implementing laws on receiving citizens and handling complaints and denunciations.
The Supreme People’s Court was asked to focus on implementing solutions to speed up the progress and improve the quality of trials, paying attention to mediation and dialogue in handling cases. It should also strengthen political and ideological education and discipline and enhance the sense of responsibility and professional ethics for officials and public employees.
The Supreme People’s Procuracy was requested to perform well in preventing wrong and unjust verdicts and avoiding crimes and to improve the responsibility of prosecution in investigation activities. It should also build processes and professional skills to enhance the quality and efficiency of the stages of performing the functions and tasks of the people’s procuracy.
“General Secretary and President To Lam has repeatedly mentioned the important role and urgent requirement of promoting the construction and perfection of institutions and promptly removing difficulties and obstacles to develop the economy, ensure national defense and security, and conduct external relations and anti-corruption and negativity. Today’s interrogation session also actively contributes to promoting the implementation of this crucial task,” the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.
