Nuen Moto Launches Vietnam’s First Electric Super Bike
Vietnam is gearing up to welcome a new electric motorcycle brand, Nuen Moto, alongside established names like VinFast, Selex, and Dat Bike. The company is set to launch its first commercial electric motorcycle in the fourth quarter of this year, and some exciting details have already been revealed.

The Nuen N1-S, as it will be called, is an Urban Scrambler with a sleek design, superior performance, and sharp aesthetics. Nuen Moto promises an unprecedented riding experience with this model.
Positioned as Vietnam’s first high-performance electric motorcycle, the Nuen N1-S will be offered in two editions: the Founder’s Edition and the Signature Edition. The Founder’s Edition is the more premium option and will be limited to just 50 units.
While Nuen Moto has started taking deposits, the exact pricing has not yet been disclosed to the public.

Nuen Moto has shared some basic technical specifications of this “super” electric bike. The Prototype version of the Nuen N1-S boasts an impressive range of up to 200 kilometers on a single charge when traveling at an average speed of 50 kilometers per hour, outperforming some of its competitors.
Moreover, the Nuen N1-S achieves a top speed unmatched by any other Vietnamese electric motorcycle. While the VinFast Theon S peaks at 99 kilometers per hour and the Dat Bike Quantum reaches 100 kilometers per hour, the Nuen N1-S can attain a remarkable 130 kilometers per hour.

To achieve this speed, the bike is equipped with an electric motor that delivers a maximum power output of 32 horsepower at the engine. Additionally, the Nuen N1-S produces a staggering 190 Nm of torque.
To put this into perspective, the Nuen N1-S outperforms many small cars and matches the performance of automobiles powered by 2-liter internal combustion engines, such as the 2.0 MPI engine found in the KIA K5 and KIA Sportage (150 horsepower / 192 Nm).

Five Layers of Battery Protection
The Nuen N1-S is powered by an 8 kWh battery pack, which Nuen Moto claims is “one of the safest designs in its segment.” The battery system is protected by five standard safety layers:
– Thermal protection: The pack is shielded by heat-resistant materials and quickly dissipates heat through its aluminum casing. The design is also optimized for air cooling.
– Mechanical protection: The cells are isolated and housed in a steel casing, with protection circuits placed externally. The entire assembly is protected by a premium aluminum casing, designed to be shockproof, impact-resistant, and waterproof to IP67 standards. It also features a pressure relief valve to maintain stable pressure inside the battery casing under harsh operating conditions.
– Electrical protection: High-quality connectors, wiring, and switches can withstand high charging and discharging currents, and they are designed to be compact and impact-resistant.
– Electronic & Software protection: The battery is managed by a sophisticated software system and protected by the highest-quality electronic components and protection circuits available on the market.
– Sensor protection: Advanced sensors, including pressure and temperature sensors, constantly monitor the battery pack, ensuring optimal operating conditions at all times.
– The charging system automatically shuts off when the battery is fully charged (with protection from both the battery and charger). It only allows charging when safety conditions are met, such as optimal battery temperature and charging current. It also reduces the charging current as the battery nears full charge to protect the battery.

The Nuen N1-S supports fast charging, taking just 40 minutes to charge from 0% to 80% (or 60 minutes for a full charge) using a 3-phase DC power source from the company’s charging stations. When using a standard 220-volt power outlet, it takes 3 hours to charge from 0% to 80% (or 4.5 hours for a full charge). The bike comes with a 2.1 kW adapter (84 volts, 25 amps).
In terms of suspension, the Nuen N1-S features Upside-down forks at the front and a Mono Shock at the rear. However, the Founder’s Edition is equipped with Ohlins suspension at both the front and rear, along with Brembo brakes.

The Nuen N1-S Riding Experience
The Nuen N1-S has larger dimensions than a typical commuter motorcycle. With a length of 2,070 mm, a wheelbase of 1,450 mm, a ground clearance of 175 mm, and a weight of 165 kg, it is a substantial machine.
For comparison, the Honda SH160i ABS measures 2,090 mm in length, has a wheelbase of 1,353 mm, a ground clearance of 146 mm, and weighs 134 kg. The Yamaha MT-03, on the other hand, has a length of 2,090 mm, a wheelbase of 1,380 mm, a ground clearance of 160 mm, and a weight of 168 kg.
The Nuen N1-S also sports hefty tires, with a front tire of 120/70 on a 17-inch wheel and a rear tire of 180/55 on a 17-inch wheel. These tire dimensions are comparable to those found on the Honda CB650R and Yamaha XSR700.

In addition to its size, Nuen Moto has provided two key specifications that greatly influence the riding experience of the N1-S.
Firstly, the Nuen N1-S has a caster angle of 24 degrees and a trail of 132 mm. The small caster angle makes steering the bike effortless and precise, while the relatively large trail contributes to a more balanced riding feel.

Secondly, given its powerful engine, the Nuen N1-S is equipped with ABS braking on both channels, along with regenerative engine braking. Additionally, it features a reverse function and cruise control, similar to those found in many conventional automobiles.
Like many other electric vehicles, the Nuen N1-S meets the IP67 standard for water resistance, meaning it can handle up to 30 minutes of submersion in up to 50 centimeters of water.
Nuen Moto states that the technical information provided is for the N1-S Prototype version.
