Toyota Camry 2025 is expected to arrive in Vietnam in the latter half of this year or early next year, according to revelations by dealers who have started taking pre-orders.

According to sales consultants, the Toyota Camry 2025 will offer three versions instead of the previous four. The 2.0G standard and 2.5Q variants will be discontinued, with the 2.0Q becoming the new standard, and two 2.5HEV hybrid models introduced for domestic customers.

The Toyota Camry 2025 is expected to launch in Vietnam towards the end of this year or early next.

If this information is accurate, the Camry 2025’s configuration will resemble that of the car launched in China. Meanwhile, in the US, the new generation Camry exclusively features a hybrid powertrain. In Thailand, the current Camry offers two options: a 2.5L naturally aspirated gasoline engine or a 2.5HEV hybrid.

The 2.0Q standard version of the Toyota Camry 2025 is likely to continue using the old 2.0L gasoline engine.

The 2.5HEV version will still feature a 2.5L engine combined with an electric motor, but it is unclear if there will be any upgrades. In the US, the car also offers two hybrid versions with power configurations of 225 hp or 232 hp, combined with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (AWD)

Market analysts predict that the starting price of the Toyota Camry will increase significantly compared to the current model. Currently, the 2.0Q version is priced at 1.22 billion VND. The two hybrid variants will be more expensive, as the 2.5HEV version of the current model costs 1.495 billion VND, making it the most expensive model in the D-segment sedan category.

It will not be until October that the Toyota Camry 2025 is launched in Thailand – the main source of imports for Toyota Vietnam, so the specifications of the car for the Vietnamese market have not yet been revealed.

If it follows the design of previous launches in markets like the US, the Camry 2025’s interior will feature a new steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen of the same size.

Some technologies that are likely to be featured in the Vietnam-bound model include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, a head-up display (HUD), tri-zone automatic climate control, a JBL sound system, and wireless phone charging.

In terms of safety features, the Toyota Camry 2025 is expected to include an upgraded version of the Toyota Safety Sense package, version 3.0, with notable features such as pre-collision warning, pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane change assist.

In Vietnam, the Toyota Camry is the best-selling model in the D-segment sedan category, despite having the highest suggested retail price. With the same budget, customers could opt for a popular 7-seat mid-size SUV like the Ford Everest (priced between 1.099 and 1.545 billion VND). This also poses a challenge for the Camry in the coming period.

According to a report by VAMA, from the beginning of 2024 to the end of July, only 789 units of the Toyota Camry were sold, less than the typical monthly sales of the Ford Everest, which sold 951 units in July alone.
