The Dong Viet Bridge project is a key project of Bac Giang province with a total investment of nearly VND 1,500 billion from the state budget. This project is under the management of the Project Management Unit for Transport and Agricultural Construction Works of Bac Giang province.

Dong Viet Bridge is the first and largest cable-stayed bridge in Bac Giang. The bridge starts at Km0+00 in the territory of Canh Thuy commune (Yen Dung district) and passes through the Duc Giang urban-industrial-service area, the Dong Phuc urban-industrial-service area, and crosses the Thuong River (about 2.4 km downstream from Dong Viet ferry).

The end point (Km8+590) connects to the planned road in Hung Dao commune, Chi Linh city (joint with the project of constructing the approach road to Dong Viet Bridge connecting to National Highway 37, Chi Linh city, invested by the People’s Committee of Hai Duong province).

With a length of over 730 meters, Dong Viet Bridge has a concrete structure with steel and pre-stressed concrete, and a deck width of 22.5 meters.

The main bridge consists of two cable-stayed spans, in one plane, and the approach bridge consists of 14 Super T spans.

Speaking to VOV reporters, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang, from the Dong Viet Bridge Project Construction Joint Venture, said that up to this point, the construction of the Dong Viet Bridge and its approach road is on schedule. Contractors are focusing on installing the railing system and completing the curbs, central dividers, concrete pavement, and lighting system.

“The contractors are working in ‘3 shifts and 4 teams’ to speed up the construction progress, striving to complete the work ahead of schedule for each item and the whole project,” said Mr. Thang.

According to VOV reporters’ observations, groups of workers are rushing to complete the items of the Dong Viet Bridge project.

The bridge railing system is securely installed, ensuring both safety and aesthetics.

The approach roads on both sides are about 7.86 km long, with a scale of grade II plain road, 22 m wide foundation, and 21.5 m wide road surface.

Up to now, the road section in Yen Dung district (Bac Giang province) has reached 70% progress of the approach road project.

The Hai Duong province is also rushing to complete the approach road to ensure the progress of the Dong Viet Bridge project.

Once completed, the Dong Viet Bridge will facilitate safe travel for local people. The project is also expected to boost the flow of goods between Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces, promote tourism development, and attract investors to industrial parks and clusters in Bac Giang province.
