According to Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, the recent state visit to China by General Secretary and State President To Lam demonstrated Vietnam’s priority and importance attached to Vietnam-China relations, contributing to building a community and sharing a future.
Maintaining comprehensive cooperation with China is a consistent policy and a strategic choice in Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence and self-reliance.

In this spirit, Ho Chi Minh City has always promoted cooperation with China – the city’s largest trading partner and 16th largest investor, with bilateral trade reaching approximately 23.3 billion USD in 2023 and 732 valid investment projects.
Ho Chi Minh City has established friendly and cooperative relations with eight Chinese localities, including the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region since 2015.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Phan Van Mai, affirmed the city’s priority to promote cooperation in port, trade, cultural exchange, and people-to-people exchange with Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, as proposed by Mr. Liu Ning.
Mr. Mai invited more enterprises from Guangxi to invest in Ho Chi Minh City in various fields, especially infrastructure development. Ho Chi Minh City committed to facilitating the agreed-upon cooperation between the two localities in a mutually beneficial manner.
During the meeting, Mr. Liu Ning praised Ho Chi Minh City as a vibrant metropolis that has witnessed remarkable development in recent years. This visit by the Guangxi delegation aimed to materialize the important common goals reached between General Secretary and President To Lam and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, to expand friendly cooperation between Guangxi and Vietnamese provinces and cities.
Mr. Liu Ning noted that in recent years, Guangxi and Vietnam have actively promoted exchanges and cooperation in various fields. Vietnam has been Guangxi’s largest trading partner for 25 consecutive years.
Mr. Liu Ning affirmed that the economic and trade cooperation between Guangxi and Vietnam reflects the efforts and contributions of both sides in promoting China-Vietnam relations.

The Provincial Security Investigation Agency (PSIA) of Thanh Hoa province announced on January 31st that it has made the decision to initiate a prosecution against 23 individuals in connection with the offenses of “Accepting bribes” and “Giving bribes” as stipulated in Article 354(3) and Article 364(2) of the Criminal Code.

The Thanh Hoa Police Investigative Agency has initiated legal proceedings against 23 individuals involved in the crimes of “Bribery” and “Receiving bribes”. This is the largest bribery case in terms of the number of suspects ever discovered and apprehended by the Thanh Hoa Police.
