The all-new Toyota Camry made its debut in North America with a default hybrid engine option. However, in other regions where there is still a demand for conventional engine vehicles, Toyota could not afford to continue with a purely hybrid approach for the Camry.
If they did so, they risked losing even more market share, not to competing sedans but to SUVs.
In late August, Toyota introduced the Camry to the Middle Eastern market with an additional option of a 2.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine producing 201 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. This engine is carried over from the previous-generation Camry and is less powerful than the standard hybrid version, which produces 226 horsepower. The gasoline model also comes with a dedicated 8-speed automatic transmission instead of the e-CVT.
In terms of design and equipment, the Toyota Camry 2025 in the Middle East is no different from the North American version introduced earlier. The standard configuration uses 16-inch steel wheels, while the higher-end models come with 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the base model features an 8-inch display, while the higher-end models offer a larger 12.3-inch screen.
Prior to its Middle Eastern debut, the new Toyota Camry was also launched in China with a unique engine option for that market. The Camry, assembled by GAC Toyota, is powered by a smaller 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that produces 170 horsepower and 206 Nm of torque – the lowest power rating for the Camry in the global market. This version also features slightly different front and rear bumpers compared to the international model.
Returning to the Middle Eastern version of the Camry, the starting price is 109,900 AED (742.9 million VND), while the Camry Hybrid starts at 123,900 AED (837.6 million VND).
In the Vietnamese market, there are rumors that Toyota is preparing to introduce the new Camry by the end of this year. Some dealership sales consultants in Hanoi are offering pre-orders for the car, with an expected launch in December, offering both gasoline and hybrid versions. The gasoline model is expected to use the same 2.0L engine as the Chinese market version. This information has not been confirmed by Toyota Vietnam.
