Recently, Ms. Truong Nguyen Thien Kim announced that she had registered to sell 13 million VCI shares of Vietcap Securities Joint Stock Company for “personal needs.” The transaction is expected to be executed from September 4 to October 3 via matching and/or agreement.

Based on the closing market price of the session on August 27 (VND 48,050/share), Ms. Kim could receive more than VND 600 billion if the entire transaction is completed.

If the transaction is successful, she will only hold approximately 9.6 million VCI shares, equivalent to a ownership rate of 2.18%, and will no longer be a major shareholder of Vietcap Securities.

The female entrepreneur, Truong Nguyen Thien Kim, is the wife of CEO and Member of the Board of Directors of Vietcap, To Hai. Currently, CEO To Hai holds more than 99.1 million VCI shares (22.44%). This is the first time Ms. Kim has registered to sell Vietcap’s shares. The last reported transaction was in 2019 when Ms. Kim completed the purchase of 2 million VCI shares.

The female entrepreneur, Truong Nguyen Thien Kim, holds important positions in many businesses.

Previously, Vietcap had paid the first cash dividend for this year with a rate of 4%. Ms. Kim received more than VND 9.1 billion, while Mr. Hai received approximately VND 39.6 billion.

According to the 2023 Annual Report of Ben Thanh Trading and Service Joint Stock Company (code: BTT) – where Ms. Thien Kim serves as an Independent Member of the Board of Directors, the female entrepreneur is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of D1 Concepts Joint Stock Company; Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of Cafe Katinat Joint Stock Company, Member of the Board of Supervisors of Western Bus Station Joint Stock Company (code: WCS); Member of the Board of Directors of International Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (code: IDP); Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phê La Joint Stock Company.

Ms. Thien Kim holds leadership positions at International Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (IDP), Ben Thanh Trading and Service Joint Stock Company (BTT), Western Bus Station Joint Stock Company (WCS), and DongA Bank Securities Company.

The businesswoman is also known as Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of D1 Concepts Joint Stock Company – the owner of food and beverage brands such as Katinat coffee chain, Phê La milk tea, San Fu Lou restaurant, Dì Mai, etc.

One of the coffee chain brands under the company where Ms. Thien Kim holds more than 84% capital.

At Phê La chain, Ms. Thien Kim owns 51% of the capital and serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Meanwhile, at Katinat coffee chain, she holds more than 84.2% of the capital and is a member of the Board of Directors and General Director.

Ms. Truong Nguyen Thien Kim is a graduate of the University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City

Ms. Truong Nguyen Thien Kim was born on November 28, 1976, in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province. Her hometown is Quang Ngai.

According to the Annual Report of Western Bus Station Joint Stock Company (WCS), Ms. Thien Kim holds a Master’s degree in Finance, Monetary and Credit, and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Banking from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.

Ms. Kim used to work as a Quality Control Officer and Interviewer at Cesais – a research and application center for economic sciences at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. In 2000, she joined Bao Viet Securities Joint Stock Company as an Accounting Specialist and Trader.

She is the chairman of the company behind the well-known food and beverage brands Katinat, Phê La, San Fu Lou, and Dì Mai.

Three years later, she worked at DongA Bank Securities Company and was promoted from Accounting Supervisor to Project Block Manager. In 2007, she took on the role of Chief Financial Officer at DongA Bank Securities Company.

From 2007 to April 2012, Ms. Kim served as Head of the Supervisory Board at Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ).

Ms. Kim has held several leadership positions in other companies, including Member of the Supervisory Board of Saigon – Cho Lon Investment and Real Estate Joint Stock Company, Member of the Board of Directors of Gia Dinh Water Supply Joint Stock Company (GDW), and Deputy General Director of DongA Bank Securities Company…
