According to Carnewschina, electric carmaker Xpeng has officially launched its Mona M03 electric sedan on August 27. The car will be offered in three variants, with prices ranging from RMB 119,800 to RMB 155,800 (USD 16,800 – 21,850), which converts to VND 417 – 542 million.

The company revealed that just 52 minutes after its launch, the car received over 10,000 reservations. The 515 and 620 variants will start deliveries in September, while the 580 Max variant will be delivered after the Lunar New Year.

The Xpeng Mona M03 is touted as a cheaper alternative to the Tesla Model 3, and its interior is also inspired by the latter’s minimalist layout, featuring no instrument panel and no display on the windshield. Instead, all information is displayed on the centrally-mounted infotainment screen.

The screen is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and 16GB of RAM, supporting 360-degree panoramic imaging and 3D-rendered maps that provide real-time conditions. The car almost completely does away with physical buttons, and can be controlled via gestures and voice commands, meaning not everything has to be controlled by physically touching the infotainment screen.

It also allows for independent voice interaction in both the front and rear seats, with multiple commands executed simultaneously.

Buyers can choose from three interior color options: morning mist gray, mid-day blue, and night gray. The car offers a trunk capacity of 621 liters, easily accommodating a 28-inch suitcase and four 20-inch suitcases without adjusting the seats. It comes with leather-upholstered seats, with the front seats featuring both heating and ventilation functions.

The Xpeng Mona M03 measures 4,780 x 1,896 x 1,445 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,815 mm. It is offered in five color options: Xinghan Rice, Xingyao Blue, Night Black, Nebula White, and Xingque Gray.

The base variant of the Xpeng Mona M03 is front-wheel drive, with a maximum output of 190 hp and 225 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.8 seconds and has a top speed of 155 km/h.

The other two variants are also front-wheel drive but produce a maximum output of 218 hp and 250 Nm of torque. They can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.4 seconds and have a top speed of 155 km/h.

All variants are equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries from BYD’s subsidiary FinDreams. The 515 km range variant uses a 51.8 kWh battery, while the higher-end 620 km and 580 km range variants are fitted with a 62.2 kWh battery. When using fast charging, the car can be charged from 30-80% in just 28 minutes.
