At around 10:30 am, the first batch of vehicles carrying a group of over 1,300 Indian tourists arrived at Hon Gai International Port in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province, to complete the procedures for their Ha Long Bay tour.

From the early morning, the staff on the tourist boats prepared various fruits, food, and drinks for the group throughout their journey on the bay.

The tour boats were staffed with attendants, tour guides, and special staff serving Indian cuisine.

The group’s menu included 17 dishes, mostly vegetarian. These were prepared by an Indian chef at a restaurant located about 6 km from the port.

Notably, the guests requested dishes made from vegetables that do not grow underground.

The group consisted mostly of men. They are employees of a large Indian pharmaceutical company with factories and branches in India and several other countries. The owner of this company is an Indian billionaire.

The tourists were excited to visit Ha Long Bay.

“This is my first time in Vietnam. I’ve heard about Ha Long Bay many times, and I’m delighted to explore this heritage site today,” shared Raju, a male tourist.

With a large number of 4,500 guests, to ensure service quality, the group was divided into batches of over 500 people per day, who would take turns exploring the beauty of Ha Long Bay from August 29 to September 6.

During the Ha Long Bay tour, the cruise ships will treat guests to Ha Long beer to promote the image of Quang Ninh and its friendly and hospitable people.

This is not the first Indian group to visit Ha Long Bay, but it is the largest group to date, a result of efforts to tap into the potential of the Indian tourist market.

After the Ha Long Bay tour, the group will return to Hanoi. Due to the large number of guests and their arrival from multiple countries, they will be accommodated in Hanoi for convenience in transportation between the airport and the hotel.

Recently, Ha Long Bay has become a favored destination for Indian tourists. Notably, two weddings of Indian high-society families were held in Ha Long, with 300-400 guests each.
