The authorities in Ben Luc district, Long An province, have recently facilitated compensation payments to residents of Thanh Phu commune for their land, which will be used to develop the Eco Retreat project – a commercial and eco-tourism urban area.

The total compensation for this project is estimated at VND 4,400 billion, including land compensation of over VND 3,686 billion, asset compensation of VND 251 billion, and support packages totaling VND 367.9 billion. The massive compensation fund reflects the project’s scale, with nearly 220 hectares of land being acquired, of which 205 hectares are agricultural land, 7.3 hectares are residential, and the remaining 7.2 hectares are public land.

On the day of the compensation payout, residents of Long An arrived early at the People’s Committee of Thanh Phu commune to register and receive their compensation. Almost everyone was satisfied with the amount they received, with many leaving with bags full of cash.

Banks were also present to assist residents in counting their substantial compensation amounts and offering attractive savings packages.

In May 2023, the People’s Committee of Long An province approved the preliminary assessment of the investor’s capacity and experience for the eco-tourism urban area project in Thanh Phu commune, Ben Luc district.

This project adds to the growing number of large-scale urban area projects in Ben Luc and Long An, some of which are already operational, while others are still under development.
