VNG Corporation (stock code VNZ) has released its semi-annual financial report for 2024, with impressive results. The company recorded a gross revenue of 4,314 billion VND, and a gross profit of 1,511 billion VND from sales and services. However, VNG also reported a net loss of 400 million VND from business operations.
Delving into the performance of each segment, the online gaming division achieved a total bookings value of 3,613 billion VND. Notably, international bookings increased by 23%, contributing 28% to the division’s total bookings.
ZingPlay Game Studios (ZPS) disclosed that their international revenue from the Card & Board game genre surpassed domestic earnings for the first time.

As of June 2024, Zalo maintained its dominance as Vietnam’s leading messaging app, with 77 million monthly active users, reflecting a 2% year-over-year increase. Additionally, Zalo users sent 1.9 billion messages daily, a 7% rise compared to the previous year. In the first two quarters of 2024, 15 million users experienced AI services on Zalo, marking a significant 45% increase from the same period last year.

Zalopay, VNG’s electronic payment division, witnessed a 42% growth in total payment volume while optimizing marketing costs. Financial service revenue from Zalopay surged by 190% year-over-year.
