On September 5, the Central Organization Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo’s decision on personnel work.
Accordingly, the Politburo decided to transfer and assign Mr. Do Trong Hung, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the People’s Council of Thanh Hoa Province, to the position of Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee.
Mr. Do Trong Hung was born in 1971 in Thanh Hoa Province. He is currently a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, a deputy of the 14th National Assembly, and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Thanh Hoa. Mr. Hung holds a Doctorate in Philosophy, a Master’s degree in Social Sciences and Humanities, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
Starting as a specialist in the Propaganda Department and综合Secretary of the Quang Xuong District Party Committee (Thanh Hoa Province), Mr. Hung later became Deputy Head of the Quang Xuong District Party Committee Office, then a specialist in the Synthesis Department – Office of the Provincial Party Committee, and Secretary to the Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee.
In early 2002, he took on the role of Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee Office and Secretary to the Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee. After four years, he became Head of the Provincial Party Committee Office and held this position for three years before becoming Secretary of the Nong Cong District Party Committee (Thanh Hoa Province).
In August 2010, Mr. Hung was appointed as Deputy Head and then Head of the Propaganda and Education Board of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee three months later. He held this position for nearly five years.
Mr. Hung then took on the role of Standing Vice Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term. In October 2020, he was elected as Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. Two months later, he was also elected as Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council for the 2016-2021 term and has held these positions until now.
The Central Organization Commission is an advisory body to the Central Executive Committee, directly and regularly to the Politburo and the Secretariat, on Party building and political system construction.
The leadership apparatus of the Central Organization Commission currently consists of seven people, including Head Le Minh Hung and six deputy heads.
The six officials holding the position of Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission are: Nguyen Quang Duong, Hoang Dang Quang, Phan Thang An, Do Trong Hung, Nguyen Thanh Hai (Head of the Delegation of Deputies), and Pham Thi Thanh Tra (Minister of Home Affairs). They all hold the position of Deputy Head in conjunction with their other roles.
