The Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee has announced the conclusion of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on the investment policy for the intersection of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway with DT991 (My Xuan-Ngai Giao-Hoa Binh Road).
Previously, at the meeting of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, after hearing the report of the Party Civil Affairs Committee of the Provincial People’s Committee on proposing the investment policy for the intersection of Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway with National Highway 991, along with the opinions expressed at the meeting, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee discussed and agreed to the proposal.
The Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee assigned the Party Civil Affairs Committee of the Provincial People’s Committee to direct the implementation of the next steps to deploy the investment in the above intersection, ensuring compliance with procedures, processes, and regulations.
According to a report by the Department of Transport, Component Project 3 of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway passing through Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province only has a complete interchange with DT992 in the form of a trumpet interchange, while the intersection with DT991 is disconnected.
However, according to the provincial planning scenario for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision towards 2050, DT991 is one of the two provincial road axes connecting the Cai Mep- Thi Vai port area, Phu My town, Chau Duc and Xuyen Moc districts, and Binh Thuan province. Therefore, the province’s investment in the construction of the intersection between DT991 and the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway is necessary.
Previously, the Department of Transport presented three options for constructing a fully-connected interchange between the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway and proposed Option 2, a complete diamond interchange, with an expected total investment of VND 1,495 billion.
