In the spirit of mutual affection and the Vietnamese tradition of solidarity, Hoa Phat Group and its over 32,000 employees joined hands to donate 30 billion VND to help the people of the affected provinces quickly rebuild and stabilize their lives.
Hoa Phat plans to provide support through various forms, including donations to the Vietnam Fatherland Front, direct cash assistance to families in need, and helping to rebuild and repair schools in the most heavily affected provinces. The implementation is expected to take place from now until the first half of Q4 2024.
The third storm has wreaked havoc and caused severe damage to many provinces and cities in Northern Vietnam. Thousands of houses have collapsed or been badly damaged, and hundreds of thousands of hectares of rice and crops have been flooded and destroyed. In addition, many roads, schools, medical facilities, and public works have been severely damaged.
Fortunately, Hoa Phat’s factories and farms in the Northern provinces of Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Bac Giang, Thai Binh, Yen Bai, and Phu Tho did not suffer any loss of life. However, they did incur significant damage from the storm and subsequent flooding. Many workshops and farms were affected, thousands of trees were uprooted, and production was interrupted due to widespread power outages. Immediately after the storm, the Group actively worked to repair the damage, and production activities have now largely stabilized.
Established in 1992, the Hoa Phat Group operates in five main sectors: Steelmaking, Steel Products, Agriculture, Real Estate, and Home Appliances. The Group has a presence in 26 provinces and cities nationwide and contributes significantly to the state budget. Embracing its role as a responsible corporate citizen, Hoa Phat actively fulfills its social responsibilities, focusing on four key areas: Healthcare, Education, Transportation, and Community Development.
In the first half of 2024, the Group contributed 7.4 trillion VND to the state budget. Hoa Phat has also initiated various charitable and social programs, including building 300 houses for the underprivileged in Tra Vinh, providing clean water by donating 300 water filters to schools and medical facilities nationwide, and starting construction on Binh Dong Elementary School in Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province.
Hoa Phat will continue its annual programs such as “The Beat of Love” – sponsoring heart surgeries for underprivileged children, and “Mother Patron” – providing monthly allowances for orphans. In September, the Group provided 10 billion VND to Dong Hy district in Thai Nguyen province to build the Head Teacher’s Office and a two-story, eight-room building for the Khe Mo Communal Kindergarten.
