SATO Vietnam Co., Ltd. (SVC), a subsidiary of SATO Group specializing in electronic printers and handheld labelers, faced challenges in managing and operating its business due to Vietnam’s complex tax regulations. There was an urgent need for a system capable of accurately tracking and reporting the components used in production and the parts sold directly to customers.
To untangle SVC’s management issues, ABeam Consulting Vietnam proposed a strategic approach to expand the current SAP ECC system to SATO Vietnam’s new factory. The goal was to optimize production and spare parts sales by separating business processes through the establishment of two distinct plants within the SAP ECC system. One plant would represent the process of purchasing components for manufacturing finished products, while the other would manage the process of selling parts directly to customers. This solution enabled SATO Vietnam to easily differentiate and efficiently manage their diverse product lines while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and financial reporting regulations.
The implementation engaged four critical SAP modules: FICO (Finance and Controlling), MM (Material Management), SD (Sales and Distribution), and QM (Quality Management). These modules automate and comprehensively manage processes ranging from financial management, supply chain, and sales to quality control, ensuring that all aspects of their business operations are optimized.
A notable aspect of this proposal was its phased implementation plan, encompassing requirements gathering, system configuration, operational testing, and user training. Post-implementation, the ABeam Consulting team continued to provide support to ensure smooth system operations.
