The ASOCIO Awards, initiated in Japan in 2003, annually evaluates and selects 100 outstanding individuals and entities from over 10,000 submissions. It recognizes organizations that effectively leverage technology across various aspects of life and foster digital ecosystem development.
In 2024, the ASOCIO DX Awards were presented to agencies, organizations, and businesses across ten categories: Excellent Technology Enterprise; Smart City; Digital Government; Digital Education; Digital Health, Cybersecurity; ESG (Environment, Social, Governance); Digital Ecosystem and Solutions; Partners; and Women in Tech.
The “Women in Tech” category, introduced for the first time, aims to honor female leaders who have made exceptional contributions to the information technology industry and the community. Chu Thi Thanh Ha, Chairman of FPT Software, FPT Corporation, was among the recipients, standing out from thousands of submissions.
Brian Shen, Chairman of ASOCIO, shared, “The judging panel was impressed by Chu Thi Thanh Ha’s outstanding leadership and her contributions to advancing technology. Her achievements at FPT testify to the crucial role that technology can play, setting a standard for other economies in the Asia-Pacific region.”
Ha, who has been with FPT for nearly 30 years, has made profound imprints. She was appointed the first female Chairman of FPT Software, FPT Corporation, in early 2020, prioritizing people and employee welfare. Under her guidance, FPT attained the milestone of $1 billion in software export revenue in foreign markets in 2023, becoming Vietnam’s first technology company to achieve this feat.
Alongside her role at FPT, she actively engages in initiatives promoting gender equality in the technology sector, inspiring women to embark on careers in this field. In addition to programs within FPT, she has been a speaker at various events, such as the Women and Technology Forum organized by Swinburne Vietnam and Deloitte Vietnam, and activities of the Vietnamese Women’s Union, all aimed at enhancing the role of women in technology and business.
Ha’s accomplishments have earned her recognition as one of Vietnam’s 50 most powerful female entrepreneurs in 2017 by Forbes and a top 20 female professional manager in 2022. More recently, she was the only Asian female technology entrepreneur to receive the Hall of Honor 2024 award from the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii, honoring distinguished alumni.
