On November 12, 2024, in Hanoi, the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center (under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) held a press conference to introduce the 24th International Agricultural Exhibition – AgroViet 2024.
Mr. Hoang Van Du, Deputy Director of the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center, said that AgroViet 2024 is an important annual trade promotion event for the agricultural industry, hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in collaboration with the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center and the Department of Quality Management, Processing and Market Development.
GATHERING DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURAL SPECIALTIES
According to Mr. Du, AgroViet 2024 aims to promote and expand international economic cooperation, brand promotion, product marketing, and trade facilitation. It also aims to honor agricultural, aquatic, and forestry products, as well as OCOP and specialty products from localities across the country. This event offers an opportunity for businesses and cooperatives to consolidate and explore domestic and export markets.
The exhibition showcases a diverse range of products, including agricultural produce, OCOP products, and distinctive specialties from both domestic and international localities. Simultaneously, it displays various machinery, equipment, and products related to livestock, veterinary, and aquatic services.
“Up to the present time, the organizers have received registrations from nearly 100 domestic and foreign units, equivalent to 250 standard booths. Among them, the International Business Booth area accounts for 99 booths, representing countries such as China, Taiwan, Mongolia, South Korea, Australia, and Russia. The domestic booth area features participants from 36 provinces and cities.”
Mr. Hoang Van Du, Deputy Director of the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center.
For the convenience of visitors and transactions, the AgroViet 2024 booths are divided into five main areas.
Firstly, the Common Exhibition Booth area spans 120 square meters and is strategically located in the central area of the fair. It features a unique design and decoration that showcase the achievements of the agricultural and rural development sector. This area also displays some typical products, including high-value export items and 4- and 5-star OCOP products at the national level…
Secondly, the International Exhibition of Machinery and Post-Harvest Processing Technology 2024 covers an area of 1,000 square meters.
This is a highlight of the fair, showcasing the latest advancements and improvements in post-harvest machinery and technology available in the international market. It provides an opportunity for direct transactions and promotes cooperation between machinery and technology providers and potential partners.
Participants include countries and territories (such as China, Taiwan, Mongolia, South Korea, Australia, and Russia), foreign organizations, joint ventures, and domestic enterprises.
Thirdly, the Domestic Booth area, linked to the agricultural value chain, features over 100 standard booths.
This area is divided into three sub-areas according to product groups: High-quality agricultural products (10-20 booths), Seeds, supplies, and equipment for sustainable agricultural production (20 booths), and 70-80 booths for local businesses and associations.
Fourthly, the Promotion of Rural Tourism and Regional Culture area spans 72 square meters.
Fifthly, the Food Demonstration, Tasting, and Beverage Sampling area covers 100 square meters, with two display points located on the east and west sides inside the exhibition building.
MONGOLIAN CULTURAL SPACE AS A DISTINCTIVE FEATURE
The fair features a diverse range of side events: The Opening Ceremony on the morning of November 20, 2024 (Wednesday); The Vietnam-Mongolia Agricultural Promotion Forum on the morning of November 20; The Vietnam-China Business Matching Conference and the Launch of the Vietnamese Agricultural Product Booth on Chinese e-commerce platforms and social media in the afternoon of November 20, 2024.
A notable feature of AgroViet 2024 is the performance of Mongolian culture in the exhibition space, celebrating the 70th anniversary of Vietnam-Mongolia diplomatic relations.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen, Deputy Director of the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center, shared that the Vietnam-Mongolia Friendship Association will set up a nomadic tent from the Mongolian steppe in the exhibition grounds for visitors to take photos.
At the opening ceremony of AgroViet 2024, the Mongolian Embassy will organize a unique cultural performance showcasing the country’s arts. Within the nomadic tent space, Mongolian students studying in Vietnam will present artistic performances of nomadic culture and interact with Vietnamese audiences.
According to Ms. Yen, Mongolia has long-standing diplomatic relations with Vietnam, and the potential for agricultural trade between the two countries is significant. Mongolia is currently exporting cold-weather livestock products such as mutton, goat meat, grassland products, mushrooms, and precious medicinal materials. Meanwhile, Vietnam’s strength lies in cultivation. Mongolian businesses are keen to import rice and other agricultural products from Vietnam, while also aiming to export goat, sheep, and cattle meat to the Vietnamese market.
