On November 14, Hai Phong City People’s Committee organized a conference to grant investment registration certificates to 12 new and expanded projects in the economic zone and industrial parks in Hai Phong City in November 2024.
The total additional investment capital attracted is 1.8 billion USD, and the expected labor demand in the coming years is about 17,000 people.

Investment registration certificates granted to 12 projects
Notably, the expansion project of LG Group, South Korea (LG Display Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd.) in Trang Due Industrial Park, increased the total investment capital by 1 billion USD, from 4.65 billion USD to 5.65 billion USD.
This is one of the largest investment projects of LG Group in Vietnam, specializing in the production of high-tech OLED screens with a capacity of 13-14 million products/month.

According to Hai Phong Newspaper, speaking on behalf of the investors, the leader of LG Display Vietnam – Hai Phong Co., Ltd. said that LG Group has invested more than 8 billion USD in Hai Phong and affirmed: “LG Group will continue to expand its investment scale in Hai Phong as well as in Vietnam.”
The project of Heesung Electronics Co., Ltd. (South Korea) in Trang Due Industrial Park increased its investment capital by 125 million USD, bringing the total to 279 million USD. The project aims to manufacture and assemble automatic positioning liquid crystal modules (LCM), produce touch panels (TPS) and automatic positioning light guide panels (LGP).
Among the newly licensed projects, the one with the highest investment capital is the project of a joint venture between Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company and investors Terminal Investment Limited (TIL) and MSC Group from Switzerland, with a total investment capital of 156 million USD.
According to the cooperation agreement, Hai Phong Port and TIL will establish a joint venture to operate two international container terminals No. 3 and 4 belonging to the Hai Phong International Gateway Port project at Lach Huyen.
The project includes two main berths of 750m, one barge berth of 150m, a system of cargo yards, roads, auxiliary works, and synchronous technical infrastructure, capable of receiving vessels with a capacity of 8,000 – 14,000 TEU, equivalent to 100,000 – 160,000 DWT, meeting a cargo throughput of 1.1 million TEU/year. The total investment of the project is nearly VND 7,000 billion.
