USD Exchange Rate in Vietnam Today

Today (12/11), the State Bank of Vietnam announced the central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the US Dollar at 24,267 VND/USD, an increase of 4 VND compared to yesterday.

With a 5% margin, commercial banks are allowed to trade within a range of 23,054 – 25,480 VND/USD for the day.

The reference exchange rate at the State Bank of Vietnam remains unchanged at 23,400 – 25,450 VND/USD (buy-sell).

At commercial banks, USD rates have been adjusted upward after a significant drop in the previous two sessions.

In the selling rate, commercial banks uniformly quoted the USD at the ceiling rate of 25,480 VND/USD.

On the buying side, banks simultaneously increased the rate of the greenback, with some banks increasing by up to 90 VND compared to the rate at the beginning of the previous day.

Specifically, at the opening of today’s trading session, Vietcombank increased the buying rate for cash USD to 25,090 VND/USD, up 5 VND from the previous trading day (11/11).

Similarly, BIDV also increased the buying rate for the US Dollar by 20 VND, bringing the rate to 25,135 VND/USD.

VietinBank raised its buying rate for USD to 25,163 VND/USD, an increase of 88 VND.

In the private banking sector, Techcombank increased its buying rate for USD by 90 VND to 25,147 VND/USD.

Sacombank also raised its buying rate for USD to 25,160 VND/USD, 80 VND higher than the previous day.

Eximbank increased its buying rate for cash USD to 25,140 VND/USD, a 60 VND increase compared to the rate at the beginning of the previous day.

Similarly, USD rates in the free market were also slightly adjusted upward. This morning, the USD was bought and sold at 25,610-25,720 VND/USD, an increase of 40 VND on the buying side and 50 VND on the selling side compared to the previous session.

USD Global Price Today

In the global market, the USD continues to strengthen. The US Dollar Index (a measure of the US Dollar’s value relative to a basket of foreign currencies) stood at 105.6 points at 10:05 am on November 12 (Vietnam time), up 0.05% from the previous session.

The USD has been on a positive trajectory since Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election.

Last week, the US Dollar surged to a four-month high after Donald Trump was declared the winner of the White House race.

However, the USD’s upward momentum slowed towards the end of last week as the US Federal Reserve (Fed) cut interest rates by another 25 basis points.
