The My Thuan Project Management Unit (Ministry of Construction) announced that thanks to the aggressive acceleration of construction, Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project has now achieved over 87% of its total volume, surpassing the common plan by nearly 2%. Notably, the main bridge – Rach Mieu 2 cable-stayed bridge – is over 6% ahead of schedule.
Specifically, for the road section, construction units are working on the entire 14-kilometer length of the route. They are in the process of removing loads from 9.6 kilometers (98% achieved), constructing crushed stone layers for 13.8 kilometers (98% achieved), and have asphalt concrete spread across 12 kilometers in separate segments (85% achieved). It is expected that the entire Ben Tre side of the route and the approach road to Rach Mieu 2 Bridge will be completed before June 30, 2025.
Regarding the bridges along the route, the project has completed 4 out of 6 bridges, namely Xoai Hot Bridge, My Tho Bridge, Tam Son Bridge, and Ba Lai Bridge. The remaining 2 bridges under construction are the main Rach Mieu 2 Bridge and Song Ma Bridge, with the latter expected to be finished before June 2025.
As for the main Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, the main span of the cable-stayed bridge was joined on April 19, 2025. Currently, the unit is working on finishing touches such as guardrails, medians, lighting, bridge expansion joints, and fire protection systems.

Currently, construction units are maintaining a pace of 3 shifts, 4 teams, with 30 construction sites, approximately 150 pieces of equipment, 500 workers, and 83 technical officers. Everyone is determined to complete the Project as directed by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Construction during their inspection visits and in accordance with Directive No. 26/CT-TTg dated August 8, 2024, issued by the Prime Minister.
Previously, Ben Tre Province inaugurated an 18-kilometer-long connecting road leading to the bridge to ensure smooth traffic flow and urban infrastructure synchronization. This project had a total investment of VND 1,158 billion from the central and local budgets.
The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, with a length of 17.6 kilometers, links Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces. The total investment for this state-funded project is over VND 6,810 billion. Upon completion, the bridge will alleviate traffic congestion on the existing Rach Mieu Bridge, especially during holidays and Tet celebrations.
