On May 11, 2025, in Borovsk, Kaluga Province, Russia, TH Group (Vietnam) inaugurated the TH Fresh Milk Processing Plant – one of the largest dairy factories in Russia. This marks a significant step in the internationalization strategy of the Vietnamese enterprise and symbolizes the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia.

From this factory, “Glasses of Milk Full of Vietnam-Russia Friendship” will be produced and supplied to the market, offering fresh and healthy products to the community. The project is also hailed as a highlight of “economic diplomacy,” connecting the two countries’ people through concrete actions and practical values, becoming a symbol of mutually beneficial cooperation with a sense of humanity and responsibility.

Russia boasts significant advantages in land, climate, water resources, and clear agricultural policies, providing ideal conditions for developing a high-tech agricultural model – which TH has successfully implemented in Vietnam. Bringing this model to Russia is also seen as contributing to the modernization of the local dairy industry, aligning with Russia’s “Digital Agriculture” initiative.

The high-tech agricultural complex project – TH’s dairy farming and fresh milk processing – is considered a highlight of “economic diplomacy” between Vietnam and Russia.

Strategic Project – A Landmark in Vietnam-Russia Cooperation

The newly inaugurated TH dairy plant in Kaluga in May 2025 spans nearly 15 hectares, with a maximum capacity of 1,000 tons/day (500 tons in phase 1), utilizing advanced technology from countries such as Germany, Sweden, and Japan. It serves as a crucial link in TH true MILK’s closed production chain, “from pasture to table,” in Russia.

Prior to this, TH operated farms in Moscow and Kaluga with purebred high-yield cows imported from the US, producing up to 40 liters/cow/day, with superior quality (4% fat and 3.2% protein – among the highest in Russia). Fresh milk from these farms provides the raw material for the Kaluga processing plant.

The inauguration ceremony on May 11, 2025, was graced by General Secretary To Lam and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, underscoring the project’s strategic importance. General Secretary To Lam emphasized that economics is a pillar in bilateral relations, with a target to increase trade turnover from the current $6 billion to $15 billion.

Vietnam and Russia have long enjoyed profound trade relations in various sectors, especially energy, agricultural products, and food processing. Russia was one of the first countries to recognize Vietnam’s market economy status and sign the FTA with the Eurasian Economic Union in 2015, significantly facilitating trade. Vietnam exports coffee, seafood, and garments to Russia, while Russia exports oil, gas, wheat, and industrial equipment to Vietnam. Thousands of Vietnamese engineers, doctors, and scientists have also been trained in Russia and are contributing to cutting-edge fields. TH’s project is a testament to the continuation of this cooperative tradition.

Kaluga Governor Vasilav Valerievich Shapsha affirmed that TH’s factory contributes to the development of the province’s dairy industry – a region regarded as Russia’s “dairy basin.” TH is also collaborating on research in dairy cow genetics and breeding and developing local human resources, providing housing support, and building a friendly corporate culture.

The project faced several objective challenges during its implementation, including sanctions, the pandemic, and global supply chain disruptions. Still, TH remained steadfast in executing its investment plan. Mr. Ngo Minh Hai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TH Group, affirmed that this was not only an opportunity but also a responsibility for the relationship between the two countries.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly praised the TH project, calling Ms. Thai Huong, the founder of TH Group, a “talented Vietnamese entrepreneur” and a symbol of successful foreign investment in Russia.

A Responsible and Integrating Vietnam

Along with the Russian government’s policy of encouraging localization in manufacturing and agriculture, TH contributes to Russia’s process of turning sanctions into a production impetus. Kaluga currently leads Russia in dairy cow productivity (28 liters/cow/day) but lacks local processing facilities, resulting in over 50% of its output being transported elsewhere.

Therefore, Kaluga is actively attracting significant investments to build additional modern processing facilities and high-tech farms. TH Group’s construction of a modern dairy processing plant in Kaluga promises to address this issue.

TH’s investment in a modern factory also helps compensate for the market shortage. TH’s strengths lie in product quality and safety, as well as cost efficiency, thanks to high-tech solutions that enhance productivity and reasonable pricing, resulting in effective operations.

TH also aims to export products from Russia to BRICS and Asia-Pacific countries. The Kaluga plant produces a diverse range of products, from fresh pasteurized and sterilized milk to smetana, yogurt, kefir, butter, cheese, and functional products that support the prevention of non-communicable chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and obesity.

The TH dairy plant in Kaluga is oriented towards diverse product manufacturing, catering to the market’s demands for healthy nutrition and modern consumption trends.

“Let’s make a glass of milk full of Vietnam-Russia friendship” – this is TH’s commitment to delivering sustainable value and contributing to the comprehensive partnership between the two countries.

Labor Hero Thai Huong, founder of TH Group, affirmed, “TH’s project in Russia also opens a new trend in investment cooperation between Vietnam and the world. The land will flourish with strengthened friendship. Vietnamese and Russian farmers and citizens will become friends on fertile fields, and life will be forever prosperous and happy.”
