There’s exciting news for motorcycle enthusiasts in the northern region of the country, as a prominent motorcycle importer has announced the upcoming arrival of a new Honda model. The highly anticipated bike is the Honda XR190L, from the year 2025.

The 2025 Honda XR190L is coming to Vietnam through private importers.
In Vietnam, this bike is often referred to as a “cào cào,” suggesting it’s only suitable for off-roading. However, the XR190L is actually a versatile machine that can handle both off-road adventures and daily urban commutes with ease.
Unlike Enduro bikes (also known as Motocross or Dirt bikes), the Honda XR190L belongs to the Dual Sport category. This means it’s designed to tackle rough terrain while still offering a comfortable ride on city streets.

The Honda XR190L boasts a design optimized for off-road performance.
The bike’s design showcases its off-road capabilities, featuring a high-mounted exhaust pipe for improved water wading, an elevated front fender to prevent mud from clogging the wheel, and rugged off-road tires.
Compared to dedicated off-road machines, the XR190L’s seat is wider and more comfortable for everyday use, although it may present some challenges when navigating certain off-road situations.
Additionally, the bike’s rear end is thoughtfully designed with a carry rack and a grab handle, features often absent from Enduro models.

Internationally, the Honda XR190L stands tall with an impressive ground clearance of 245 mm, dwarfing the figures of common bikes like the Winner X (151 mm) and Vision (175 mm).
Complementing its lofty ground clearance is a seat height of 823 mm, which is also significantly higher than that of most common bikes. It’s worth noting that the suspension on this model tends to be on the softer side, so the seat height will lower slightly once you settle into the saddle.
In real-world testing, individuals of average height (around 1.65 meters) and weight (approximately 65 kg) can comfortably reach the ground with both feet, although they may need to balance on their tiptoes when stopping.

The bike features a modern LED headlight.
Under the hood, the Honda XR190L lives up to its name with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 184.4 cc engine that delivers a maximum power output of 15.6 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 15.7 Nm at 6,000 rpm.
While these figures might not be jaw-dropping compared to speed-focused bikes, they are more than adequate for tackling a variety of off-road scenarios.

The nearly 190 cc engine provides a balanced blend of power and torque, prioritizing traction over sheer speed.
Similar to many other “cào cào” bikes, the Honda XR190L features a dual fuel tank system with a total capacity of 12 liters, including a 3.5-liter reserve tank. The bike’s fuel economy stands at approximately 2.5L/100km, placing it in the higher consumption bracket when compared to common bikes on the market.
As a Dual Sport bike that needs to perform well on city streets, the XR190L comes equipped with modern features like a digital instrument cluster, LED headlights, and a Type-C phone charging port.
While the bike lacks ABS brakes and traction control, which are common safety features on urban bikes, these aren’t deal-breakers for off-road enthusiasts.

With a dry weight of 123 kg and rugged off-road tires, the Honda XR190L is an excellent choice for beginners in the world of off-roading, as well as those who appreciate the “cào cào” style but plan to use their bike primarily for city riding.
Although the local importer has started taking deposits, the retail price for the Honda XR190L in Vietnam remains undisclosed. Based on pricing in other markets, it is estimated that the bike will retail for approximately 100 million VND (excluding registration fees).
