The stock market made a successful turnaround on August 13, with the VN-Index reaching a new record high of 1,611.6 points. According to Forbes, the wealth of Vietnam’s billionaires also changed after this session.

Specifically, Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong now has a net worth of $12.1 billion, an increase of $40 million from the previous day. With this wealth, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong ranks 224th on Forbes’ list of the world’s richest people. His wealth increased thanks to the upward trend of VIC shares. On August 13, VIC rose 0.43%, closing at 116,000 VND per share.

Female billionaire Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao’s net worth reached $3.3 billion, a slight increase of $8 million. On August 12, Ms. Thao’s wealth also increased by $112 million due to the rise in VJC and HDB shares. She is currently ranked 1,181st in the world by Forbes.

Ranked third on the list of Vietnamese billionaires is Tran Dinh Long, Chairman of Hoa Phat Group. Mr. Long’s wealth decreased slightly by $41 million to $2.8 billion, placing him at 1,383rd in the world. On August 13, HPG shares fell by 1.4% to 28,100 VND per share.

Techcombank Chairman Ho Hung Anh has a net worth of $2.6 billion, a slight increase of $17 million from the previous session. Mr. Ho Hung Anh is currently ranked 1,514th in the world.

Masan Group Chairman Nguyen Dang Quang ranks 2,724th in the world with a net worth of $1.2 billion.

The combined wealth of these five Vietnamese billionaires stands at $22 billion, an increase of $3.3 billion compared to the beginning of July.
