On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025), the Government has decided to simultaneously organize the groundbreaking and inauguration of approximately 250 projects and works across 80 locations nationwide (combining live and online events at all project sites) on the morning of August 19, 2025.

As of August 13, 2025, there are 250 projects and works in 34 provinces and cities that meet the conditions for groundbreaking and inauguration, with a total investment of about VND 1,280 trillion. This includes 89 projects and works for inauguration and 161 for groundbreaking.

Out of these 250 projects and works, 129 are funded by the state with a total investment of VND 478,000 billion, accounting for 37% of the total investment. The remaining 121 projects and works are funded by other sources with a total investment of VND 802,000 billion, accounting for 63% of the total investment. There are also 5 FDI projects with a total investment of about VND 54,000 billion.

The inauguration and operation of these projects and works, along with the simultaneous implementation of large-scale construction projects, will contribute to the socio-economic development of the country, enhance regional connectivity, and promote growth. It is expected to achieve a growth rate of 8% or higher in 2025 and double-digit growth in the following years. These projects will also create jobs and improve the livelihoods of the people, raising the standard of living.

Later this year, in December (tentatively on December 19, 2025), we will again organize the inauguration and groundbreaking of large-scale projects and works nationwide. This will include the completion and operation of over 3,000 km of expressways and the construction of the Long Thanh International Airport Phase 1, which is expected to be completed one year ahead of schedule. These achievements will be a celebration as we lead up to the Fourteenth National Party Congress.

Regarding the compilation of the list of projects eligible for groundbreaking and inauguration

The Ministry of Construction has received reports from 34 provinces and cities, 17 ministries and sectors, and 18 corporations and general companies. Based on this information, the Ministry has reviewed and compiled a list of 250 projects and works from ministries, sectors, localities, corporations, and general companies in 34 provinces and cities that meet the conditions for inauguration and groundbreaking. This includes 89 projects and works for inauguration and 161 for groundbreaking, categorized as follows:

– Transport infrastructure: 59 projects and works

– Civil and urban works: 44 projects and works

– Industrial projects: 57 projects and works

– Technical infrastructure: 36 projects and works

– Social housing: 22 projects and works

– Agriculture and rural development: 6 projects and works

– Culture and sports: 3 projects and works

– Education: 12 projects and works

– National defense: 1 project

– Healthcare: 10 projects and works

Out of these 250 projects and works, there are 8 national key projects, 46 Group A projects, 155 Group B projects, and 41 Group C projects.

The total investment for these projects is VND 1,280,000 billion, including VND 478,000 billion from the state budget for 129 projects, accounting for 37% of the total investment. The remaining 121 projects are funded by other sources with a total investment of VND 802,000 billion, accounting for 63% of the total investment.

Among the 250 projects and works eligible for inauguration and groundbreaking, 80 locations have been selected for live and online broadcasting. The remaining projects will be simultaneously inaugurated and grounded.
