Note for Vehicles Traveling on the Vung Ang – Bung Highway, Effective August 28th

From August 28, the Vung Ang-Bung Expressway will be open to traffic. This marks a significant development following the technical opening of the expressway on August 19. All road users are advised to take note of this update and be aware of potential changes to their routes.

According to Project Management Unit 6 (Ministry of Construction) – the investor of the Vung Ang- Bung Highway project, vehicles are allowed to operate on the highway from the north, connecting with the Ham Nghi- Vung Ang Expressway (at the里程approximately Km568+200), to the south, connecting with the Bung- Van Ninh Expressway (at the里程approximately Km625+000).

The operational section of the Vung Ang- Bung Expressway is over 55 km long and passes through two interchanges, including the Tien Chau- Van Hoa Interchange (at the里程approximately Km597+900) and the QL12A Interchange (at the里程approximately Km 605+500).

The Vung Ang- Bung Expressway has a rest stop at Km594+400 (under construction) located on both sides of the expressway.

Currently, the Ministry of Construction is directing the investor to urgently complete the remaining items of the Vung Ang- Bung Expressway, including the collection road system, ITS, and other works.

According to the Ministry of Construction, the Vung Ang- Bung Expressway is part of the North-South Expressway East Phase 2021- 2025 project. The project was started in January 2023 and has basically completed the main route to date.

The Vung Ang- Bung Expressway is over 55 km long and was started in January 2023 with a total investment of more than VND 12,540 billion. The starting point is at Ky Hoa Commune, Ha Tinh Province, connecting to the Ham Nghi- Vung Ang Expressway. The endpoint is at Bo Trach District, Quang Tri Province, connecting to the Bung- Van Ninh Expressway (opened in April) at Phong Nha Junction.

Phase 1 of the Vung Ang- Bung Expressway has a scale of four lanes, without an emergency stop lane, a roadbed width of 17 m, and a design speed of 80- 90 km/h. In the completion phase, the Vung Ang- Bung Expressway will be upgraded to a Class A highway with a design speed of 100 km/h.
