On August 28, at the opening ceremony of the “80 Years of Independence, Freedom and Happiness” Exhibition at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi), VinFast unveiled the Lac Hong 900 LX. The Lac Hong 900 LX is a limited special edition vehicle, exclusively designed for transporting international dignitaries during the 80th National Day Anniversary celebrations (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025) for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This model is available in two versions: Standard and Bulletproof.

The VinFast Lac Hong series draws inspiration from the “Con Lac Chau Hong” (“Descendants of Lac and Hong”) tradition. Both versions of the Lac Hong 900 LX boast a generous wheelbase of 3,349 mm (with overall dimensions larger than the standard VF 9), a majestic and luxurious design, and a host of distinctive features. Notably, the golden logo depicting the Lac bird, the grille reminiscent of Dong Son drums, and the bamboo-inspired bars pay homage to Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage.

The Lac Hong 900 LX exudes elegance with its black body accented by golden details. These golden embellishments are meticulously crafted by hand.
Step inside the Lac Hong 900 LX, and you’ll be greeted by a cabin adorned with luxurious materials such as genuine gold, precious nam moc wood, and Nappa leather. Additionally, select elements on the steering wheel and air conditioning vents are plated with handcrafted gold. The second row offers ample space, complete with individual electric adjustments, footrests, and a glass partition for added privacy, along with a modern intercom system for seamless communication between the front and rear compartments.

The Rarity and Value of Golden Nam Moc Wood
Golden nam moc wood graces numerous interior elements of the Lac Hong 900 LX, including the dashboard, front and rear center armrests, door trim, and partition between the front and rear seats.

Golden nam moc wood is often likened to “gold above ground” or “wood more precious than gold.” This rare and valuable wood belongs to the Long Nao group of plants, characterized by slow growth. It is found only in select old-growth forests of Vietnam, China, and some Southeast Asian countries.
Unlike ordinary woods, golden nam moc wood boasts a golden hue with a subtle sheen, fine grain, and a delicate, refined fragrance. Its appeal lies not only in its aesthetic beauty but also in its natural resistance to termites and warping over time.
Given its rarity, durability, and resistance to deformation and corrosion, golden nam moc wood commands a high price.

In architecture, golden nam moc wood has been used for temple pillars, rafters, and ornamental panels. These applications require not only beautiful but also sturdy and long-lasting wood. Notably, ancient statues carved from this wood have been impeccably preserved for centuries.
In Vietnam, golden nam moc wood can be found in certain northern provinces, such as Hoa Binh and Quang Ninh. Due to its rarity and exceptional qualities, this wood has been subject to counterfeiting, dyeing, and misidentification as common wood types. However, skilled artisans can distinguish the real thing by its grain, feel, and aroma.
The Lac Hong 900 LX also offers a bulletproof version that meets the VPAM VR7 standard, the highest level of protection for dignitaries. The entire body of this vehicle is armored, with reinforced chassis, bulletproof glass, and a bulletproof partition manufactured by INKAS Armored Vehicle Manufacturing (Canada). It can withstand NATO Ball M80 rifle rounds and DM51 grenades, and it can travel 80-100 km even with flat tires thanks to run-flat tires.
Prior to its official launch, the bulletproof Lac Hong 900 LX underwent rigorous testing at the Beschussamt Ulm test center in Germany. The vehicle withstood 440 shots fired at various angles and 11 under-body and roof explosions.
In addition to its bulletproof capabilities, the Lac Hong 900 LX can be equipped with specialized features such as an oxygen supply system, integrated fire suppression system, satellite phone, warning lights, and siren, depending on specific requirements.
