Zalopay, VNG’s payment application, witnessed a remarkable 63% growth in total payment volume (TPV) during the same period. The strategic product, the Multi-purpose QR Code, witnessed a fivefold increase compared to the first half of 2024. Zalopay now supports scanning all QR standards in Vietnam and has expanded its international reach to multiple Asian countries.
Zalo and GreenNode: Forging Ahead with Cutting-Edge Technology and AI
Zalo, Vietnam’s leading communication platform, maintained its dominance with 78.3 million monthly users and over 2 billion messages exchanged daily. The integration of AI has been a game-changer, attracting 20 million regular users with enhanced communication, entertainment, and productivity features. The number of registered users for value-added services surged by 168% year-over-year, solidifying Zalo’s strategy of building sustainable revenue streams through premium offerings. Furthermore, deep integration with 25 banks, including the four largest in Vietnam, enables seamless transfers between chat windows and banking apps.
GreenNode, VNG’s young and dynamic business division, is making strides in AI. Their GreenMind-Medium-14B-R1 model became the first Vietnamese LLM on the NVIDIA AI NIM platform, optimized for the H100 GPU. This achievement underscores GreenNode’s capability to develop world-class models, paving the way for commercial AI applications in Vietnam.
VNG’s financial results for the first half of 2025 reflect a disciplined approach to operations, cost management, and revenue growth from core products. With a tax contribution of 1,588 billion VND in 2024, VNG ranked 29th among the top 100 private enterprises in Vietnam. For three consecutive years, the Group has maintained a tax contribution of over 1,000 billion VND.
