With weekends before and after the official holiday, employees may enjoy a 9-day break for the 2026 Lunar New Year. This extended holiday would start on Saturday, February 14th, 2026 (27th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake) and end on Sunday, February 22nd, 2026 (6th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Horse).

Under Decree No. 128/2025 issued by the Government, effective from July 1st, the Minister of Home Affairs is responsible for announcing specific dates for the Lunar New Year and National Day holidays applicable to civil servants, public employees, and workers in administrative agencies, public service units, political organizations, and socio-political organizations.
