Exploiting the public’s demand for gold and silver, fraudsters are impersonating reputable brands like Bao Tin Minh Chau and Phu Quy to deceive and defraud customers.

Bao Tin Minh Chau and Phu Quy jointly warn of fake verified Facebook pages engaging in scams.

Bao Tin Minh Chau reports that numerous fake verified Facebook pages and accounts are impersonating major brands, offering fictitious gold promotions to lure unsuspecting buyers.

Scammers replicate official branding, including logos, profile pictures, cover photos, and posts, to deceive users. They share links requesting personal details or payments for fake giveaways and non-existent promotions.

“Amid volatile gold markets, these scams are increasingly sophisticated. Customers must exercise extreme caution, especially with online transactions,” Bao Tin Minh Chau advises.

The company emphasizes that all transactions, online or in-store, include VAT-compliant invoices. Payments should only be made to accounts registered under Bao Tin Minh Chau LLC. Currently, online sales are limited to jewelry; gold bars and plain rings are unavailable online.

On September 18, Phu Quy Investment JSC issued a new alert regarding fake pages fraudulently selling limited-edition silver products.

Phu Quy clarifies it has no ongoing silver promotions. All announced limited editions are final and will not be reissued. Pages claiming otherwise are fraudulent.

Previously, Phu Quy’s 50th Anniversary of Southern Liberation silver bar (2,025 units) and 80th National Day silver bar (9,999 units) sold out within 3 and 8 hours, respectively.

“We operate exclusively under Phu Quy Investment JSC. Accounts with variations of our name are unauthorized. Customers should transact directly at our 100+ authorized stores/agents nationwide to avoid scams,” Phu Quy stated.
