Starting October 1, 2025, as per Decree 119/2024/NĐ-CP issued by the Government, all vehicles passing through non-stop toll stations (ETC) nationwide must use a transportation account—a designated account linked to a non-cash payment method such as an e-wallet or VISA card. Failure to comply will result in vehicles being unable to pass through ETC toll stations.
For vehicle owners who have registered a VETC e-wallet and verified their chip-embedded CCCD, VETC will automatically convert the toll account to a transportation account. If you haven’t used an e-wallet or verified your chip-embedded CCCD, follow these steps to upgrade your toll account to a transportation account on the VETC app:

From October 1, 2025, vehicle owners must convert their toll accounts to bank-linked transportation accounts as per Decree 119/2024, or they will be blocked at ETC stations. (Illustrative image)
Step 1: On the Verification screen, tap “Start Verification.”
Step 2: Capture your chip-embedded CCCD as instructed on the screen.
Step 3: Enable NFC on your phone and follow the instructions.
Step 4: Complete facial recognition as guided.
Step 5: Review your information, select “I agree,” and tap “Confirm” to complete the process.
Step 6: Receive successful verification confirmation.
After verification, link your payment methods to the account.
For ePass toll account holders transitioning to a transportation account, log in to your account, select “Manage Funds,” and link your Viettel Money account or international credit card. Ensure sufficient funds in your Viettel Money wallet or linked bank account for toll payments.
