Recently, social media has been abuzz with a viral video capturing chaotic scenes of people jostling and scrambling for reservation tickets at the Orchard Grand condominium project launch. Developed by CapitaLand Development (CLD), a leading Singaporean real estate firm, the project has sparked intense interest.

CLD, the real estate arm of CapitaLand, boasts a portfolio valued at approximately SGD 21.9 billion as of Q1 2023. The company focuses on three key markets: Singapore, China, and Vietnam.

In Singapore, CLD is renowned for iconic projects like Jewel Changi Airport, a world-class shopping and entertainment hub. Jewel features a massive glass dome, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, Rain Vortex, and the lush Forest Valley garden, cementing Changi Airport’s reputation as one of the globe’s best airports.

Other notable Singaporean projects include Ion Orchard mall, Raffles City, Clarke Quay entertainment hub, and the luxury Sky Habitat residences.

Orchard Grand, part of the Sycamore City urban area in Binh Duong (adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City), has a total investment of VND 18 trillion. The project will offer approximately 3,500 units across low-rise, mid-rise, and high-rise segments.

Beyond Singapore and Vietnam, CLD has a strong presence in China with landmark projects like Raffles City Chongqing, Raffles City The Bund (Shanghai), and Suzhou Center Mall.

The September 28th launch event for Orchard Grand became a social media sensation after footage emerged of brokers frantically pushing and climbing over tables to secure reservation tickets.

On September 29th, CLD issued a statement confirming the video’s authenticity. They clarified that the incident occurred during the final moments of the half-day event when a group rushed the document distribution area. Additional staff were immediately deployed to restore order.
