Entrepreneur Nguyen Thi Phuoc – CEO of Vietcomreal

Nguyen Thi Phuoc is recognized as one of the most influential figures in Ho Chi Minh City’s real estate industry. Born in 1959 in Khanh Hoa, her entrepreneurial journey began not in real estate, but in the agricultural sector, specifically in coffee exports.

Around 1988, facing challenges in Khanh Hoa’s fishing industry, Phuoc relocated to Dak Lak with modest capital to establish a coffee procurement unit under a general trading station in Buon Ma Thuot.

In 1995, she founded Hiep Phuc Company, specializing in coffee procurement and export. Her partners included prominent names in agricultural trade such as Itochu, Olam, Marubeni from Japan, and Sucafina from Switzerland.

However, by the early 2000s, due to economic fluctuations in Vietnam and the coffee industry, Hiep Phuc scaled down its operations, prompting Phuoc to venture into real estate.

In 2007, Vietcomreal (Vietnam Real Estate Trading JSC) was established, operating in various sectors including real estate investment, consulting, project development, construction, and brokerage.

Under Phuoc’s leadership, Vietcomreal has developed several prime projects in Ho Chi Minh City, such as the high-end Charmington Iris apartment complex at 76 Ton That Thuyet, District 4, and Riva Park on a 4,785 m² plot at 504 Nguyen Tat Thanh, District 4.

In 2016, Vietcomreal acquired a 7,400 m² dual-frontage plot at 1472 Vo Van Kiet, which previously belonged to Pinaco. This site is now the Viva Riverside project, featuring two 25-story towers with 567 apartments.

Beyond Vietcomreal, Phuoc holds leadership roles in several other companies, including Ham Long Artisan JSC, Thinh Phat Real Estate Investment Company, Phu Yen Printing and Trading JSC, and Hiep Phuc Agricultural and Coffee Export Company.

QMS Leader Nguyen Thi Thuy Huong

Nguyen Thi Thuy Huong (born in 1970) is another notable figure in Vietnam’s real estate sector, despite maintaining a low media profile. She is associated with Quang Minh School Services JSC (QMS), a company with assets valued in the trillions of VND.

Established in 2007, QMS primarily operates in the education sector, providing resources for domestic and international labor markets. By September 27, 2018, QMS’s chartered capital reached 968 billion VND, with Huong holding 99.07% ownership.

Over the past decade, under Huong’s guidance, QMS has expanded into real estate, developing mixed-use projects combining offices and residential spaces.

A notable project marking this transition is the QMS Startup Tower (formerly QMS Tower1), a commercial and office complex located on a 1,204 m² plot at Ton That Thuyet Street, My Dinh 2 Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi, with an investment of 150 billion VND.

Another significant project is the QMS Top Tower (formerly QMS Tower 2) in To Huu Street, Dai Mo Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi, built on a 3,500 m² plot with an investment of 1.5 trillion VND.

QMS also developed the QMS Knowledge Park, a 2.3-hectare project in Phuong Canh Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi, with an investment of approximately 300 billion VND.

In addition to leading QMS, Huong serves as the legal representative for several other companies, including House Development and Investment JSC No. 8, Tri Nguyen Island Tourism Development Company, and QMS Project Development Company.

The “Steel Roses” of Nam Cuong Group

Le Thi Thuy Nga, Chairwoman of Hanoi Nam Cuong Group, is a reserved yet formidable figure in real estate. She assumed leadership of the group after her husband, Tran Van Cuong, passed away in early 2010, steering the company through market volatility.

Their daughter, Tran Thi Quynh Ngoc, born in 1990, joined the family business in 2010 and currently serves as Vice Chairwoman of Nam Cuong Group. Ngoc studied Economic Geography in the UK for eight years and is known for her passion for nature, art, and social activities.

Nam Cuong Group, originally established in 1984 as Xuan Thuy Transport, Agricultural Supplies, and Construction Cooperative, transitioned into a corporation in December 2007 and was renamed Hanoi Nam Cuong Group in August 2009.

In the 2000s, under Tran Van Cuong’s leadership, the group pioneered BOT projects, developing urban areas in Hai Duong, Nam Dinh, Hanoi, and Ha Tay (formerly).

The group is known for landmark projects in Hanoi, such as the 197-hectare Duong Noi New Urban Area and the 17.6-hectare Co Nhue New Urban Area.

A notable achievement under Nga’s leadership is the Astronomy Park, Southeast Asia’s first astronomy-themed park, located in Duong Noi New Urban Area. Launched in July 2017, the 12-hectare park includes a 6-hectare lake and serves as a non-profit community space for education and entertainment.
