As of November 5th, the international silver price stands at $47.48 per ounce, marking a 1.3% decline from the previous session.
Silver prices have been on a continuous downward spiral, following a series of declines over several weeks. Notably, silver has experienced even steeper drops than gold at various points.
From its historic peak of $54.4 per ounce, silver has plummeted by approximately 15% in a short period.
Analysts attribute this trend to the broader downward movement in gold prices, with silver facing additional pressure as previous supportive factors have already been priced in.
Easing U.S.-China trade tensions and the U.S. Dollar Index (DXY) reaching its highest level in six months have diminished silver’s appeal. Remarkably, silver prices continued to fall despite a sell-off in the U.S. stock market.

Silver Prices Hit One-Month Low
The global silver price decline has mirrored in domestic markets. Sacombank Jewelry Company (SBJ) listed silver at 1,794 million VND per tael for buying and 1,842 million VND per tael for selling, a significant drop of 54,000 VND per tael compared to the previous day. Phu Quy Group buys at 1,821 million VND and sells at 1,877 million VND per tael.
Other brands like Ancarat and Golden Fun trade silver between 1,821 and 1,828 million VND per tael (selling price).
The persistent decline in silver prices, contrary to expert forecasts and investor expectations, has left many peak buyers in a difficult position.
According to Bao Nguoi Lao Dong, numerous individuals, observing silver’s surge relative to gold in recent months, shifted to silver investments, hoping to profit from this metal.
“Over the past several days, I’ve monitored silver prices, which have shown no signs of recovery. From 2 million VND per tael in mid-October, silver has lost at least 120,000 VND per tael. I ordered 500 taels of silver for delivery in early 2026, and I’m currently facing a loss of over 60 million VND, even before receiving the shipment. Many of my friends, who also invested in silver, share the same anxious sentiment,” shared Mr. Duy Hoang.
Currently, the global silver price, converted at the listed exchange rate, is approximately 1.52 million VND per tael.
